NBA 2K12 Portrait editing

Tue Aug 07, 2012 11:53 pm

Hello all. So, I am creating my own rosters, but I'm stuck with the portrait editing.. Can someone make a tutorial (a video one would be perfect) how to replace old portraits with my created ones?
Thank you.

Using this resource - viewtopic.php?p=1432583#p1432583

you need to find a player to replace with your portrait, then give the portID from that list to the player you want to have that portrait in the REDitor

easiest way is to extract a texture with the mod tool, open it in GIMP/PS, add your texture/photo to that texture, save as a dds file DXT5 with mipmaps, then import back in

look for mod tool and GIMP tutorials - viewtopic.php?f=144&t=86557

I watched the tutorial, but I still have a problem. I want the image file to be DDS file, but in the tutorial just shows how to edit the same dds file that is in portrait.iff (i'm editing portraits) so i just wanna replace that default portrait with my image file, but how I need to get my image file to dds file?

if you need help using image software, you will be better suited to check Google and YouTube for program specific tutorials.

simple answer to converting any file: google "file extension" to "file extension" and either use website or download. So png to dds or dds to png in your case.
