Ok, I need some help from you experienced modders.
I want to create a roster file with 30 empty team slots and enough empty player slots (30x15=450) to soak up all the players from the created teams. I am going to use .tmm files to load into those empty team/player slots. The idea is to create a custom roster with my favorite teams so that I can try to play those in association/season (e.g. use retro teams). It should work in theory I suppose.
What I have done is created .ttm files of my favorite retro teams.
I have full version of Reditor. The default roster has a dozen or so empty team slots. So, i can import that many teams and then I get a message saying no empty team slots.
How would you go about creating a roster file with 30 empty team slot and 450 empty player slots? The Reditor has this option to "clone". Does that work? Should I just close one of those empty team slots? What do I need to set the team type to be? How about player type? Any info would be welcomed.

the main question is if you are going to overwrite NBA players, the Retro teams in the default roster, or if you want to keep those teams and the new teams
either way, the tmm files are temporary holders at best. You'll need to import them into 3 dummy rosters (10 each) so you can open them with the REDitor and extract the player and team data into your main roster.

Thanks for the reply JaoSming.
I have no problem importing 10 .tmm teams into a roster (three separate rosters). How would I go from there to setting up all 30 into one roster? How do I copy them into the same roster once I import them into those three separate ones? I have tried creating additional CAP teams (cloning) but it seems like you cannot go over 10 CAP teams. Do you suggest to try to just overwrite some other teams?
Any help for that next step would be much appreciated.
Thanks.

if cloning cant give you enough space, yes, overwritting is the way to go

So i then have to copy over some of the teams that are in the database because when I clone a blank CAP team and then import a team, it always references the name and other relevant info from the team I had cloned from. In other words I am ok importing 10 CAP teams but on the 11th it changes all the info for all the imported teams to the last one I had just imported.
Can I copy over (remove) the legendary teams that come with the game to have more room? If I do so, what do I do with the players that are linked to those teams (e.g. Webber from the Kings team that comes with the game)? do I just change those players to team id -1?
Thanks for the help.
