Game not working; please help with problem?

Postby IQuessSo on Sun May 06, 2012 6:07 am

I installed the "Superglobal Codename Moose v2.7 - TNT Full Pack" mod to my game, and then I manually installed the "05/01 Official Roster and Online Data".

The game loads, and goes to the home screen, but when I go to "Manage Roster" and attempt to edit a player, therefore bringing me to the screen where the player would be shown, the game closes. I'm not sure what it is. I had it occur once before, but it just with one player and all I had to do was change back his cyberface. I think it has to do with Online Data. What should I do? Please help.

Don't know what to tell you. Try to track the issue by removing the superglobal first and replacing the files with your backups. The superglobal shouldn't be the issue, I got no such reports from anybody else, nor did the game crash on me, and I'm using it myself.

If the superglobal isn't the issue, try deleting both the Roster.ROS file and the Online Data, run the game, and it should both recreate the roster and download the Online Data again. You'll know that the Online Data has finished downloading, when the
%APPDATA%\2K Sports\NBA 2K12\Cache\patches
folder disappears.

Go to Reset Roster after it finishes downloading to get the default Roster to become the latest one.

P.S. Hope you didn't extract the Online Data into your game installation folder.

Well, I deleted the Roster file and the Online Data, but it still crashes. I have tried three different players; a rookie, one who would have online data shoes, and one who wouldn't. It still will not load any players. I don't think it has to do with the global, I just included that to specify my scenario. What's interesting is that while I have a Cache folder, I never had a patches subfolder. I should also note that I had installed one of the first Online Data 'packages' (if that's what you would call them) and everything was fine. Very confused...

Well now, something even more strange. I just played a quick game and everything loaded fine. It's just I cannot get into the 'Edit Player' area. When I click on it, it briefly flashes "Loading NikeID Data ..." before closing my game, leading me to believe even more that it is some issue with the Online Data.

EDIT: Now I can get in; I think I'm alright for now, thank you very much.
