nba 2k12 sometimes lag

i have
intel core i3-2310M
NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M, 1GB VRAM
3 GB DDR3 Memory

but it is still lag... My Fps is only 50.. help please.

50 FPS is pretty good. What type of laptop is that though? If the FPS drops from time to time it means there is a cooling issue. The GPU will throttle down at high temps. Buy a cooling fan or (even better) get a fan and blow it over your laptop while you're playing. If you know how to, open your laptop up and apply thermal paste to the GPU. I have this issue periodically and it corresponds to heat.

GPU = Graphics processing unit. Thermal paste helps to cool computer components.

Since you have to ask those questions, I would advise you not to open up your laptop, not without the assistance of someone who has more experience in laptop repair.

I can almost guarantee you that your issue is related to heat. I could help out, but you'd do best by buying a cooling fan from somewhere like Amazon. The good ones are about $30 and more.
