Putting Online data into game data

Postby chicagoRAW on Wed Mar 28, 2012 6:23 am

So in order to keep modded courts I decided to block 2k12 from accessing the internet with my firewall. I don't play online anyways and when I tried it was a bad experience and it reset my graphics settings to very low when I went back to play offline (which is annoying). The problem that I came across is that if I put in the latest online data manually once the game starts it deletes the online data.

So I was wondering...Can I take the online data and put it in the 2k game folder where the .exe is? I don't know if the online data replaces everything already in the game or it adds extra stuff like shoes that will screw the game up some how. Will anything be screwed up?

Haven't tested it yet, but my thoughts are that the game already knows what files it should access at retail, and checks the downloads.mnf file for the additional or modded files the Online Data offers. So updated files could be replaced by their Online Data counterparts, but new files would have no effect whatsoever.

Yeah, it pretty much does. The latest version allows you to have both modded files and the rest of 2K's updates.
