Online help?

Postby JWL3 on Sat Mar 10, 2012 6:35 pm

Sorry folks, I'm sure this has been covered before.

I tried online in 2K9 and pretty much gave up until today because it was impossible to connect. Anyway, I finally connected today (2k12) and played an awesome game tied going into 4th. At the start of the 4th, the effing game dropped and kicked us all out! It said there were "no players left. "

So my question is: were the other 9 players on the court all actual human controlled?

And is this dropping out normal? WTF? I can't remember having so much fun in a bball video game. I had an "A" grade with steals and assisting, playing the right way.

Sigh, looks like 2k12 online is as broken as 2k9, 2k10, 2k11. Every year I hope, and every year it sucks. The network lags like crazy, constantly waiting for opponent. And then it drops all the time with "No more remaining players. " WTF man? freaking allow dedicated servers and stop trying to control the network 2k. You may as well forget about online if you're going to put out this kind of crap. Can you imagine Call of Duty multiplayer or WOW playing like this?

You've actually managed to find an opponent and play part of an online game with the PC version? That's more than I've been able to manage so far.

I only tried playing once, 10 seconds of wait and an opponent was there. Good game, he quit with 3 minutes on the clock.

I don't think he's talking about the PC version since he mentions playing online in 2K9.

Benji, actually I'm running it on PC. I think 2k9 was the first year it was on the PC after stupid EA took away NBA Live.

I actually connect fine - takes a long time (1-2 min) sometimes, but it connects. It's staying online that's the problem. And the lag is terrible. I never tried online before the patch so maybe the patch improves online somehow? Strange, I only see 1000 - 1400 people online. You would think a lot more people would play it.

There was no online play in 2K9.

Yes, it's normal for the online to not work in the PC versions, it never has and VC seems incapable of fixing it. Lag, disconnects, etc. are all what you should expect.

Seems legit.

But it truly is. I don't know about other regions but it was released here in Asia about the same time as 2K10.
Seen it myself when I was buying 2K10 but not with the Chinese characters in the pic above.
Yes, I lol'd when I saw it on the display rack.

It does include the online fixes that the console versions received so in theory it should, but it doesn't seem to be the case.
