Location of Saved Games using Steam version?

Postby milkcrate on Mon Jan 16, 2012 7:13 am

Does anyone know where the saved files go if you have the Steam version of the game? I'm looking for the .cmg myplayer files but I can't seem to find them.

Thanks

Thanks, I still can't find the .cmg files though (I do have the correct extension right?).

Do they usually save in the main folder (C:\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\nba 2k12)?

From the topic JaoSming linked-

Where is my NBA 2K12 Saves folder?
For XP/Vista users goto the Start Menu and click Run.... then type in %appdata% with the % signs. Then click 2K Sports, then NBA 2K12. That is your saves folder.

For Windows 7 users you can type %appdata% in your Start Menu's search bar and press enter. It will take you to your Roaming folder and then you can click 2K Sports and NBA 2K12.

Someone should update that FAQ.

1. You don't need to type the "%" in Vista+ just "appdata" and hit enter.
2. Vista has the same userdata folder format as 7 so I have no idea why it's paired with XP. Especially since you have to go into "Roaming" in Vista.
3. You can just use the start menu search, no need for "Run" ever again in Vista+ since it's the same exact thing.
4. Also, you can just navigate to [username]/AppData/Roaming/2K Sports/ in Explorer.

What is the official file extension for Steam users to save into the Saves folder for part 4? I cannot seem to find a Saves folder in the Steam version.

its the same as any other version

see pdub's post above, and if you run your computer with multiple users, be sure to check all of their "appdata" folders
