convert 2k11 hair to 2k12

does anyone know how to successfully convert 2k11 hair to 2k12?
i'm having trouble with gerald wallace's hair b/c after i'm done in blender, and i import it into the 3D mod tool but it says the import model doesn't match the resource model
has anyone been able to convert something like this properly?
