I saw these files inside the NBA2k12 folder:

street_3pt_shootout_winner.iff

So I thought just maybe... there will be a Slam Dunk and Three-Point Shootout Contest?

I guess it's possible via DLC. However, like the flags in the settings file, they could simply be left over stuff from last year that we were never intended to see.
