Cant do the spin move/ Finish training camp

Hi there,

games great and all, but theres a problem with my controller. For some reason I cant manage to pull of the spin/ behind the back move.

I know how to do it, but only on the PC it is impossible. On the demo I could do it every time.

So any suggestions how I could finish training camp? Maybe with keyboard, but how do I do it there?

I had difficulty with some of those too. You've got to be quick and precise, basically. It doesn't help that if you mess up slightly the drill immediately stops and resets meaning you have to be perfect from the moment you're put in control, plus some of the dialogue boxes when you fail aren't particularly helpful (or accurate in describing where you messed up).

It's definitely doable on PC though. Just takes some persistence.

I can pull off the behind-the-back move with relative ease but I'm having trouble with the spin move as well.

I have a Thrustmaster Dual Trigger 3-in-1 Rumble Force Gamepad. When I check the gamepad under configuartion in Windows, it shows me that i cant push the left stick as far as possibble.

A miracle bug made me pass, I actually did a halfspin accidentally and after a weird animation I went on to the next one

I think they should change the spin move to RT and Y, with the left stick pointing in the direction you want your player to finish. That way the delay from the circle motion will be reduced. That is my biggest pet peeve. A spin move is a quick pivot, and the controls should reflect that. It takes an entire second from the moment you want to spin, to the actual execution.

Though I'm not hopeful on 2K doing that as some of the isomotion controls are 2K's band aid solution to online cheesing, instead of improving gamplay deficiency.

True, but the band aid fix to that is improving the lateral defense speed. Overall, the isomotion controls have improved their response time, imo. Especially when trying to break out of an animation. For instance, I continued to fail the double cross move in training camp because I wasn't waiting for the first cross to finish and performed in and out dribbles.

Yeah, much more depth and control this year. But I would like to see the behind the back and spin changed. For me its pretty hard to pull of. I remember when in 2k10 or so where you in addition to the left stick could pull it of with a button combo.


New problem guys
Yesterday I installed that new Catalyst from ATI. Now this shows up. The black stuff sort of expands with the player movement and moves to the right


Start screen and certain myplayer pages are messed up like that. It probably caused some crashes but I would like to keep Catalyst on my pc if possible

This may deserve an own thread, but I couldnt find anywhere on the Internet so I figured that this is a rare problem

You could try reinstalling the game. Its probably the drivers, though. I've read about plenty systems getting messed up because there is something wrong with the way amd installs or upgrades drivers. A week ago I reinstalled the drivers and the ccc about 5 times because the ccc wouldn't open, and eventually got it to where it would load. Then I updated the drivers right before 2k12 was released, amd I can't open the ccc again.

I'm also having problem with behind the back. What's funny is that I can easily do it when playing match, and was doing it all year on 2k11, but I just can't do it on Training Camp... Well, I gotta keep trying

You can go to your device manager and open your video card device properties. You should have an option to "rollback driver" which will go back to the previous one.

Not sure what is going on here. Quick story:
Before I got 2k12, I made a fresh 60gb partition with new super clean Windows 7 install. I installed just an ATI driver and 2k12. Becuase me Pc needs to be slightly underclocked I downloaded CCC, thats when the black thing started.
Now when I roll back the driver Im on W7 drivers, which prevent me from playing, so I wiped everything ATI and put 11.9 on there, before it was 11.8
Seems like it is less stable now, quicker crashes. Later ill try 11.8 again
I couldnt run the game in compability mode as well.

Do I have to install some other stuff? like.net or so? Directx must have been installed during the 2k12 installation.
I dont think i need to reinstall 2k12, since there are no mods on it.
Ill google around, but Im pretty sure its my gpu.

I'm on WinXP so the comparison to what I use wouldn't matter. I was suggesting that you revert your drivers to an older one, especially since newer ones are messing things up for you.

Well i reinstalled everything and the black Thing is gone but after 2 hours of playing it crashed. Can live like that

Anyone else experienced problems when trying stepback counter?
I start either to early or go in the wrong direction (no matter which camera I used)... after my 50th fail I stopped training camp. Maybe the new controller will help...

I messed up on the first step back and go because I assumed it was the crossover. I was getting mad because I didn't read that I had to go to the ball hand. Once I did, passed it like cake.

Don't let the pop up help confuse you.

Upon further inspection it was caused by the mipmap splider. Had to be on best quality if anyone else has the the same problem.
