Weren't you ultra excited about the FEATURES of the game like MyPlayer, Create your own shot, etc.? Of course 2k demos aren't meant to give you a big dosage of the game. This demo in a sense is like giving you a teaser, to a trailer, to a game.

Doesn't he get like early builds to make trailers? I figured they would prep him on controls before hand too so the trailers can have some of the new stuff in them. Just a thought

Like others I absolutely hated the demo the first time. After about 10 games, I'm really starting to like it.

AI plays incredibly smart and life-like. Bosh, Wade, LeBron all play like their real life counterparts and settle for a mid range J whenever possible. Dirk is insane, but his signature stuff looks amazing.

Also saw the loose ball stuff, which is pretty incredible as well. Had an instance where Rudy stole it under the hoop, and Caron broke out on the FB. Instead of passing it TO Caron he threw it ahead of him, like you're supposed to. Definitely made me smile. Just wish I could be using Mike Miller :(

He is, he's the one that made this video

I've just finished playing my 3rd game(smh @ my enet service) and I've played with Jason Terry, 2 things I noticed:

1. He plays like "The JET", you can really feel the difference between him, a role player, & a star player. If he gets hot he's on Dirk's level, don't you become Shannon Brown(kinda reminds me of NBA Lives' X Factor). :)

2. It is A LOT less dunks over people and dunks period. It was many instances on D where I let D-Wade and LBJ go by me and once they reached the basket help D from Tyson Chandler & Dirk altered their shots into a bunch of made & missed layups. (Y)

I love how players with low rebounding ratings can't always control a rebound in traffic and instead it just pops off their hands. That is a nice touch.

I got another gripe. The change layup animations look really good, but I think if you hold the RS while a layup or dunk plays out, the game will think you are adjusting instead of waiting for you to center the stick. I gotta test that more though.

The more I play, and look at videos like the Momentous trailer, the more concerned I become with the ease of scoring. It's nice to have fast breaks, but it seems too easy to throw the ball cross court for a score every time. It's easy to score with Dirk every time. There's no defense. 10, 15, 20 points in 4 minutes is a lot of scoring, and not a lot of defense. In 2K11 sliders and settings didn't make that much difference to have 200+ PPG on pro, casual vs 100 PPG on HOF Sim.

I have yet to complete a full court pass. The demo does not show off much defense that may or may not be in the full game.

well there is only so much you can change in a basketball game, especially one that was considered pretty good last year. Im very excited for the little things only as well.

I get what you're saying completely, and I'm really pumped for the new features, hell i was the first to start the Create a Jumpshot thread! I'm just saying, it looks like more of a continuation rather than a whole new game because the presentation is similar. The menus haven't changed, and the scoreboard is the same. Also pictures of MP, they have new features yes, but the same design, look, and feel as 2K11. I was just wanting a totally fresh new game. I'm still completely excited, NBA 2K is my life basically. hahh. :)

I always figured the fact the demo scoring is so easy is to bring in the casual gamers as well as show some of the new controls to the sim head rather than having a 2-4 game at the end of 4 minutes. People would then complain the game is too hard, especially the casual ones

I hear you, but you have to remember it's only one years cycle and I think the fact they based their whole presentation after TNT(Kevin Harlan & now Steve Kerr, Scorebug, overlays, etc.) that's why it hasn't changed much. they even added the little motion ads that pop in the bottom corner of the TV :applaud: . I do think if anything they need to update PC menus to that of the consoles, last year we were stuck with 2k10's because they felt it worked better with a mouse which makes no sense considering the majority on PC play it with a controller.

It could be. But in general what's seen from the demo is the way the game plays. For example in 2k11, HOF Sim and even with sliders adjustments over the months, 12 minute quarter game scores averaged 120ish for both teams. That was with player speed turned down to 40 and locked on one player which tends to slow down the pace.

The other aspect is that lots of people commenting on the demo comment that it's hard to score, you have to use real basketball knowledge. One even asked if there was an achievement for shutting out a team in a quarter. How does scoring 10-20 points in 4 minutes lead someone to comment that it's hard to score? That's 120 - 240 points in a full 12 minute quarter game.

I want to reiterate to you again that it's been confirmed that the demo is set to default difficulty and the casual gamestyle sliders.

Keyword Sliders I guess. I still haven't dled the demo (and I probably won't, since release day will be even greater without playing the demo and there have also been rumours that the demo build is nowhere near the retail version), but from the vids I saw that the shooting sliders are way too high. Contested shots with Caron Butler from the three point line? no way you will see that on sim-sliders over and over again. Tyson Chandler with a fade-away from 10 feet? Not really.

I'm sure sliders will make the game enjoyable and fun and I guess the best basketball sim ever. Already put my 2k11 on ebay and ordered 2k12.

With one of the main selling points being the legends, they should had two teams and the classic broadcast as well.

Def agree with u. Personally I'm still searching for a reason to trade my pimped up 2k11 against an update. My focus is on a real-TV-like presentation... therefore the old design/scoreboard etc isnt that much thrilling for me. Can someone post some of the new stuff they've put in there?

Why would you want a whole new game? That's where EA Sports went wrong each time. Instead of building on their foundation they reset for a "new game" every 3 years. 2k's foundation is solid, from 2k12 I'm expecting 2k11 - 2. The game wasn't one of the best sports games of all time for no reason.
