Whoever it is will have been signed months in advance, so the outcome of the Finals won't have any impact. At best it would be a fortunate coincidence.

WOW, how can you guys forget the most important player in the NBA right now? The player that has made the most impact in the NBA the season has obviously been Joel Anthony. I mean even if the game itself is shit, i would purchase it just because that wonderful man is on the cover. Can someone PLEASE make a custom cover with him on it?

From the last set of covers, the John Wall and the D Wade looked pretty good, from page 1 the D Rose too. But (and i say this with absolutely no bias) the LeBron cover looked really good

The question was raised at previous NBA Live community events and basically we were told that they had reached out to him about the Live cover and he wanted too much. It's highly likely 2K has done the same thing and hit the same stumbling block.

Too much or too little? I still don't understand why money would be a problem for any of the superstars who get to be on the covers esp LeBron who is "well off" as far as money goes. I would imagine it was an issue of perks?(idk) or it was too little compared to a different superstar. Otherwise, i don't get it.

Umm, what does anything have to do with imitating Jordan? Plus Even if you paid 2K, they probably won't put you on the cover. Just saying.

The problem was LeBron asking for too much to appear on the cover of the game. As for why he'd ask for a high amount, he's pretty much at the height of his earning power and recognises the value of his brand (and/or has enough people in his camp reminding him of it), so he doesn't come cheap.

The cover player will already have been signed. The results of the Playoffs won't change anything.
