Your Player (2K12 Edition!)

Talk about NBA 2K12 here.

I created a 6´6 Allround SG. Got drafted 15th by the Pacers and have played 2 games so far. Won the first against the Pistons easily. I had 15 pts, 3 reb and 5 ast in 12 min of the bench. In the second game against the Thunder it was really close until midway through the 3rd. Then Durant got hot and we lost by 20. Finished the game with 14pts and 8 ast but was able to play the whole 4th quarter because we were down by so much :)

One thing that bothers me though:I have the European version and my Player does not seem to have a voice. In the pre-draft interviews when i chose an answer he didn't say a word and after a few seconds the text what he said is displayed. Also in post-game interviews when i choose an answer it immediately shows the effect of my answer without telling me what I really said

This mode is a lot of fun this year. I suck for some reason, though. 6'5" sg all around, I'm missing many open shots with good/great shot selection and perfect releases. I told utah to f off, said I wouldn't mind phoenix building around me, amd wouldn't mind going to milwaukee. Drafted by phoenix, 3-1 playing sg, some sf, and pg.. Had a game with 0 skill points.

What is a shame about this mode is that it still falls apart halfway through the season. After hitting a record 15 threes in a game and leading the Bucks to their first win in what seems like months, I decided to make a second trade request. Once again the Bucks responding to my trade requests by trading away the only teammates who don't just dribble it out of bounds when they get the ball for point guards. It's frustrating being forced to play the entire game. It's unrealistic because my teammates all seem to have -50 offensive awareness and I attempt 25 three pointers per game as a point guard without consequence.

I may restart if they fix it. I was head over heels with the mode when I was only getting 10 MPG. 60 overall is a much better place to start than 40 and I don't miss having to play like 20 games before the season starts (uuuggghhh) and the presentation additions are cool. Unfortunately, it's the same old shit with this mode. I like being able to sim some of the games, but I wouldn't have to if I weren't forced to play 44 MPG. I can't even shorten the quarters much because they only pro-rate the scores when I'm on the bench.

I think we're probably five years away from the mode being as functional as Association Mode (which still has a couple issues). There are still a lot of kinks to work out and with the fact that 2K doesn't finish their games until December, it seems it's once again time to shelve the mode.

Why are the only rookies in the mode Rubio, Vaden and I? Where are the players from that were drafted before and after me?

@Lamrock
On which level are you playing? Such a good statistic and still losing. Weird...

@Lamrock
Are you playing on xbox,ps3 or pc, because i am the same way with the mode giving you to much playing time, what i do is not technically cheating, i used the tsearch or cheatengine and select how much mins i play per game (player rotation), 44 is way to much personally, i play 12 mins right now as a rookie and may up it if there injurys or trades, you can do the same if that is what you are looking for, input (1320044) address into tsearch or cheatengine and lock the address, ive been doing this since nba 2k10, i enjoy it a lot more

hope that helps

GrizzVasquez, None of the 2011 class will be in the game because of the lockout. They'll be put in if/when it ends.

nwa115, 360 unfortunately. That's good to know if I ever get a computer that can run the game though.

My 6'5" 212 lbs Point Forward.

Drafted by Indiana.

Have only played one game - Got minutes at SF, SG, and PG.

Could only score from offensive rebounds and FT line, but finished with 4 assists and 0 turnovers in 11 minutes.

Hibbert/Hansborough front line sucks.

Just had the game installed and...

I'm a 6'6" two-guard. Scored 27 points on the Rookie Showcase and got interviewed by the Bucks/Jazz/Warriors and ended up a 10th overall pick by the Bucks.

IMO, I feel 2K11's My Player to have a better beginning since there's this frustration phase of you screwing yourself up on the rookie games.

6-7 SF 3pt specialist, drafted by GS Warriors at 11th pick.

now on 5-5 standing, playing alongside monta and stephen. Only thing i can say is our team is quite fast, though with no defense. hehe

averaging (approx i forgot the exact stats) 15pts, 2rebs, 0.7asst, 1stl, 0.3 blocks. Im improving my 3pt % now up to 38%.

I had a game yesterday against the wizards, with me scoring 31 pts on 7/10 3pt shooting. The downside is I'm 0 in asst and rebs haha. Its not that im a ballhogger, Im more on a set shooter/off the screen type of player. I still cant make shots out of dribble consistently haha

Hope i could learn how to dunk. Im like a high school 6-7 asian guy who just make a simple unorthodox layup on a fastbreak, rather than dunking it. :)

Point Guard (All-Round)
6'4
190lbs
63 Overall

Drafted by Suns. I enjoy playing with Steve Nash. I get to play PG and SG on the Suns. When I play SG is when Nash is on the floor and I absolutely do not mind it. He finds me open shots a lot. I currently average around 8 Points 2 assists and 1.7 steals. I am number 5 in the league in Steals. I recently started player much better scoring wise so I have been getting around 22 Minutes a game out of the 32 total.

I am the official 6th man on the rotation right now.

My team's record is 4-7. We rely on a lot of jumpers (hella 3pters). We cant score for shit in the paint. (Gortat and Lopez wont be setting the post on fire. Frye is allergic to the paint)

6'8 athletic SF.
Rookie showcase was a desaster. The only thing I was good in was rebounding. Managed 3 over the back fouls. ;)
Got drafted by the Knicks (would have gone to the Wizz if I hadn't pushed the wrong button in the interview). Knicks told me that I should get used to play the 2 since 'Melo is their 3.
But 'Melo and Amar'e are injured very much. During my 10 games with the team the did not play a full game together.
Started my last game as 3. Since the Knickstraded Fields and Turiaf for Nick Young and Josh Howard. Amar'e plays the C pretty much, so I can play 3 and 4. Sometimes got subbed in as 2 also but that's ok.
We lost 6 out of our first 8 games but managed back to back wins against Lakers and Suns.
Our defense sucks pretty much as we are more or less just focused on offense. Very funny!
My averages are 7.3 ppg / 4.8 rpg (1.4 orpg) while shooting 52 % from the field and 50 % from 3 point range (on 1 of 2 shooting ;) ).

bowdown, same here with Phoenix, although we are 12-5, and I am a SG who platoons at the SF with a tiny bit of PG, too. It's all 3 pointers and a few lucky layups. I had a fast break with just MP and Vince Carter trailing, through it off the backboard but he couldn't catch it. I am increasing my speed, quickness, shoot off dribble, and layups to get inside for easy baskets and end up getting blocked a lot, so those are going to turn into assists when I find the wide open perimeter guy. I'm the sixth man now, too.

I got two milestones in my last game by getting 1 block, and then a 2nd block. Now, if I can only get my shooting above 40%.

mpac, I believe you have to buy a dunk package in order to dunk. I have had several breakaways for layups that should have been dunks.

Pdub, I didnt need to, with sufficient ratings it should be possible. Without a package assigned the dunks are there, but very basic

Mine is a 6'5 scoring shooting guard that somehow resembles Larry Hughes scoring abilities.

Rookie showcase was subpar with me scoring 11 points in like 15 shots. Drafted by the Jazz with their 13 pick.

Scored 4 points in 7 minutes in the debut and scored 13 points in 10 minutes in the next one. Liking it so far

What difficulty are you using guys? In All-Star (sim-default both) it´s frustrating the defend and too many 3p shots attempts/makes by the other team around 70%. It´s insane. My teammates plays dumb as usual like every year and the other team plays perfect.

I was drafted by the 76ers and i created a 6'2'' SG after 30 games or so i started over Igoudala with a 65 Rating i was like wtf?! I'm still staying with the 76ers for at least one season as they have a pretty good shot at getting to the Play-offs!

Pdub i still dont have enough money to buy package. but im working on my dunk points for me to be able to make a simple dunk :)

Difficulty - all star. yup. Mine as well. opponent shot more consistently than we do,but i think it is also due to our lack of defensive game :) at times monta and stephen love the ball too much, so i find myself waiting in the other corner hoping one of them would realize the game is not 2 vs 5 haha

I'm on my 3rd My Player now...

First one was an Athletic PG, drafted by GSW, went to Mavs on free agency before 4th season: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X8C7yBBRocA
After a week in Mavs, the Texas weather got too hot, so he decided to retire and play baseball instead: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IQVm5th1X9k

Second was a Faceup PF/C, which I kinda got annoyed with because the amount of bumping and holding involved in any movement in the interior is just completely f'ing ridiculous at the moment.

Lastly, started a new PG, drafted 6th to Wizards, and traded to the Lakers at first opportunity. Currently 24.5ppg 7.9apg 4.3rbp, and 5th in voting for an All-Star spot, just 2 weeks away.

I've simulated a few, but I like to play almost every game.
For my next myplayer I'm thinking of making a Penny Hardaway type player, as I am a big fan of that type of play, or I may make a Melo type player.
