The Intel HD graphics is causing your problems.

Clearly, not to mention my laptop happens to be the version without the graphics card, but I hit over 30fps on low/med and up to 70 if I turn like everything off XD, but since I installed hawks ultimate roster, some things need to be in medium settings for it to work. So worth it though

What should my config file look like with these specs?

Intel Core 2 Duo 3.0ghz E8400
EVGA NVidia GTX560ti
8GB DDR3 Ram
Windows 7 64bit

What config would I want to go with when I have the following:

i7 3820 3.6 ghz
2gb gtx 670
16 gb ram
win7 64-bit?

also, what is the max value for the settings that most people have been changing? (stadium lod etc.)

Re: PC Performance issues solved

Don't change anything. Just delete config.cfg, let the game recreate it, and put everything on high in-game. Your system has like the latest and most expensive of everything.

I really hate it when people come here with the most expensive parts and ask how to max their performance. It's like showing off.

Re: PC Performance issues solved

Yeah, not showing off. Been researching what people have been doing to their config files. I know how to max everything outside of the config file. Thing is that I have heard that you can change values in the config that otherwise you would not be able to do graphics-wise (like changing playerlod to 4 and changing core info to quad, etc.)...then someone in another forum mentions upping the texture size all the way into the 300000s via the config file(if this is all possible, I just want to know the maximum values possible)...thanks leftos, but I think you confuse me with a goof who needs attention :wink:

The game should detect and use all your processor cores. I have six and it detects them perfectly, setting one core to all six of the logical threads. I actually caused problems such as stuttering, random framerate drops, jersey tearing from the cloth physics, etc, to my game by editing the configuration file.

I noticed no proof nor did I witness any increase in player quality by setting the LOD to 4. When all settings are maximum in-game, it uses the high quality models, textures, and uses all the shaders. There is no improving the image quality beyond that without creating custom shaders which is not possible(so far) or by customizing them in the global by editing their values directly.

If there are comparison shots that I have not seen, please link me to them. Because if I'm wrong, I would not mind improving the image quality.

Ok thanks man! I wasn't really seeing too much of a difference. If I was, it was probably me fooling myself into thinking so :D

This laptop is too slow for nba 2k12. Put everything on low/off and rename crowd.iff file in nba 2k12 folder to remove crowd completely. You might get 30+ fps if lucky.

Not a greatest expierence to play like that, because game supposed to run on 60 fps. You get extra challenge on shot releases and controls overall, because on lower than 60fps you get some input delay.

Intel Core i3, 2.4 Ghz
Intel HD graphics
2,0 gb ram
Windows 7 32bit

Can I play the game with this configurations?

How can I improve the performance?

Thank you.

Read a post above you. The vga is bottleneck and only toning down graphic settings may help abit. The intel graphics accelerators is not meant for gaming and thats it.

Pdub, so your core assignment is right for a quad core? For the last 4 years, I've been doing what plasticstatic did:

CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_0 = 1
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_1 = 2
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_2 = 3
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_3 = 4

This other guy online is doing something entirely different: (I think he's a fool, he put 5 in Graphics because he has a Gddr5)

http://www.moddingway.com/file/17904.html

CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_0 = 4
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_1 = 4
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_2 = 4
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_3 = 4
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_4 = 4
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_5 = 4
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_6 = 4
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_7 = 4
CLOTH_LOGICAL_THREAD_8 = 4

MAIN_LOGICAL_THREAD = 8 for this i multiplied my cores by 2 (4x2=8) each core has 2 threads so i have read
GPU_LOGICAL_THREAD = 5 My graphics card is GDDR5 so i put 5

Re: PC Performance issues solved

Fri Nov 16, 2012 6:05 am

These are all individual threads. The number corresponds to the core for each thread. Not total number of cores or threads. It's placebo to put anything higher than what you have, as I am sure the game ignores it and then autodetects the settings, even if it can't write to the config file which is set to read only.

If you have an eight core, the highest number you can put anywhere is 7. The first core is always 0, so 7 is the highest you can go.

If you have a quad core, I would try this-

Main - 3
gpu - 2
cloth 1 - 1
cloth 2 - 0
cloth 3 - -1
cloth 4 - -1

Re: PC Performance issues solved

Fri Nov 16, 2012 12:44 pm

You're right. The game set my threads automatically just as you recommend. I've been doing it wrong all along and didn't realize main_logical_thread and GPU_logical_thread needs to be accounted for. Thanks.
