My Player tips

Thu Mar 29, 2012 8:46 am

hi guys

I normally play as a forward (usually PF only) but decided to try my hand as a SG - did my rookie game and got drafted by the Knicks (I'm the new Linsanity!) however, tbh I don't have a clue what I'm supposed to do. my player is 6'5" and about 190 lbs and I selected scorer as player type however half the time I'm just running around like crazy.

Any tips? eg. what to improve first (skill points), etc. Same for SF if you can.

Depending on what you like to do offensively, the shooting ratings would definitely be up there. You might also want to increase your athletic ratings to help out in driving to the basket, as well as the offensive ratings related to driving and finishing around the rim.

Good choice of player type specially for a SG...though I would recommend a "Slashing" SG, a Scoring-type will be my second best option. As Andrew have pointed out, adding points in the mental ratings (speed, quickness, vertical, etc) is truly a must. Defense wins championships! On-ball def, blocks, steals, are the way to go to stopping some of the great SGs like Kobe, Wade, Ellis, that you will be up against. Offensively, Knicks is a great team, you got 2 more good scoring options(Amare & Melo) might as well work more on your passing skills. Run some plays so will know your role in the early part of the game, that way you wont be a total nuisance in the offense. :) Good luck!...and see you in the Playoffs. :D
