Multiple Installations

Thu Mar 15, 2012 3:41 am

Guys this is my first thread so don't kill me if I'm doin` something wrong. So my question is this:
I want to have 2 installations of NBA 2K12 on my PC at the same time. What I want to acomplish by doing this is having the patched and the non-patched version. In the patched version I'll have the official rosters and updates and in the non-patched version I want the ultimate all time roster that's uploaded in the download section cuz ever since the patch I can't seem to get it working + I don't want to load/unload roster files every time I go in-game.I'm sorry if this issue has already been adressed but I couldn't find anything in the search. So If you know the solution/or there is a topic answering this already please help me.Thanks.

You can have multiple installations. Copy the original folder. Paste the copy and rename it. Make a shortcut (with different names) for both of the executables. You don't need to make multiple installs if you use JoneSoft Generic Mod Enabler, it's free. Works great to switch mods such as the FIBA or NCAA mods when they are available. Works well for switching cyberfaces, uniforms or global files and it's great for testing patches. Any files that are in the root NBA 2K12 folder. If you want to switch files that are in the C:\Documents and Settings\YourName\Application Data\2K Sports (WinXP) or something similar for Vista and Win7 you need to create an additional Generic Mod Enabler shortcut. This is due to the program being able to switch files in one location only. This is where roster and update files are located in WinXP.
