No injury update on 2k rosters? Why?

Fri Feb 10, 2012 12:50 am

Last 2 roster updates is without any injury updates. What the hell? Why they stopped updated injuries. Billups, Randolf( Mem) out for a season ... not in update.

they got rid of them because their injuries were weeks out of date, and it was screwing with the Online Associations. Remember, console uses had no way to uninjure the rosters if they wanted to, so overall its for the better. I'm sure the next update will have those two out for the season though.

I like better the new 2k's roster. there are injured players but they are out of the first 12 man team( like the real life). It is not good to decrease the overall rating of the player.

Injuries are one of the worst ideas 2K has had and hopefully they continue to release uninjured roster updates so that injured players don't become locked content and can be moved.

It's a decent idea in theory and it's one of those things that's been suggested to me through the years of doing NBA Live roster updates, since it's possible to edit that flag in Live's databases. The problem with doing it in official and unofficial roster updates alike is user control over the situation, which can be done in Live through the use of a batch file or with 2K through REDitor, but it's still a bit more work than necessary (and in 2K's case would be impossible if not for the development of unofficial software). Additionally, if the official roster updates were coming through daily and they were on top of the injury situation, it wouldn't be so bad.

As it stands, the injuries are more trouble than they're worth. Placing players on the inactive roster while updating the rotations is sufficient and easily modified by the user as desired. Until such time as users have more control over the situation without the need of unofficial utilities, not using the injured status in the roster updates is the way to go.
