Talk about NBA 2K12 here.

"That kind of call happens everywhere and isn't limited to the boundaries. I reach in, knock the ball from the dribbler, and instead of a kick ball call when he kicks it, they call a reach in foul. I think it is a result of their fouls being based on percentages and ratings rather than what is actually happening on the court. I think this is the only game where I have gotten a charging call in my favor after being behind the ball handler."
Probably so.
Just as rebounds based on ratings and percentages result in strange situations. A 7 foot center, who has a 6'2" guard blocked out, loses the rebound to the tiny guard. Some very strange warping happens on rebounds.

Don't you love that animation when the big guy barely jumps and doesn't extend his arms and the guard leaps as high as he can with an outstretched arm to grab it?

It's as if there's an invisible ceiling over him. It's frustrating because I'm playing an association locked as the 7'8" C and can only manage 10 or so rebounds most games.
I box people out, but they grab the rebound over me even if they're tiny.
Sometimes, even if a guard runs into the paint, he shoves me towards the sidelines. Editing the weight to be 1000 lbs didn't change it.
There's the invisible ceiling. Sometimes the ball hits my head into the arms of another player.
There are games where I grab 8 rebounds in the first quarter, but then can't grab another the rest of the game.
Then there's the superglue box outs the CPU uses. I can't move back from the player, can't move towards the basket, and sometimes the CPU player holds the superglue box out until the ball is inbounded and half way to mid court.
How does a 6'9" 275 lb PF hold a 7'8" 300lb, 350lb, 500lb, 1000lb center motionless?

I use(d) that glitch all the time to improve the rebounding of my PG in development drills. Made the off and def rebounding to 90 rating. It got hard once reaching 90.

Absolutely, that's one of the CPU's more frustrating tricks and not just with rebounding.

I hate that, too. Especially since it delays your spin out of the box out even if you time it well.
