Not really a satisfactory answer. Hopefully some inquiries can be made by 2K and the situation resolved, because there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to some of these filters.

Try telling Ronnie to tell Mike Wang to make a My Player player using Mike's name. Maybe they'll take this issue seriously if it messes them up like people are experiencing right now.

Hmm, maybe it is a bug, but I thought I had it figured out that it saying the "name was inappropriate" was an indication that the PA announcer wouldn't say it, for instance I put in the name "Bill Greathouse" and it was deemed inappropriate, but then I put in "Bill House" and it was OK (Eddie House). I actually find it useful, so I can have my created player's name said on the PA rather than "The Kid" or "The Wizard"

That's not a bad theory, but I've used my name for my player and my surname isn't in the audio files. Judging by Ronnie's tweet, I'd say it's just an issue with the filter being buggy or set way too high.

Nope. My surname isn't in the audio files, yet I didn't encounter this problem. Besides, Ronnie has already confirmed it's a filter issue, albeit one that's apparently beyond their control.
