Unable to save video settings

Fri Oct 07, 2011 7:07 am

When I change the player model from high to medium, it will only use the medium quality models for one game before reverting back to the high quality oversized jersey models with movement. This is despite the fact that it still says in the menu the players are set to medium when they clearly aren't. I have to manually change the player models to high and back again to medium before playing a game for the proper iff cloth files to work. Could it be my PC or is it a bug in the game?

sounds like a bug, try saving the settings file with it at medium, then quitting the game and then load it up again.

Tried it and got the same result. I believe video settings are in the config file anyways.

It may be something related to the loading of "Home" screen, which happens whenever you exit any game mode (practice, exhibition, blacktop, etc). Hope 2K will patch this if it really is a bug.

If you goto your config file you can manually change the settings.

I think its /c-users-username-appdata-roaming-2ksports-2k12 and open the config file using notepad.

After changing your settings you can, right click the config file and set to read only.

Im no expert but this should save your settings but I would run your benchmark before setting it if you plan to play online.

Setting the file to read only also had no effect. I am no expert either. Here are the settings from the config file in case something is wrong. Thanks all for the help.

It even happened when I set the player model quality to low.

As far I have seen the settings don't change, but when I start some games the players are in high detail (with the consequent lag that makes me prefer the players in medium detail), when this happens, I quit the match and load it again (there´s no need to change the settings again) and them the players look how they should.

As you said, it could be associated with the "home screen", maybe because LeBron and Dirk have cloth movement?

If this happens to everybody indeed is a annoying bug, but if this only happens the both of us I would like to know why this is happening...

Now that you point out how the problem can be solved by loading the settings file before playing any game, I agree this has to do with the Home screen which automatically loads every time you exit a game mode. Chances are they will fix it when PC patch comes out.
