A Question About Passing

How do you perform the pass where in the late seconds of the clock, when inbounding, the inbounder pass the ball to the receiver but instead of passing directly to the player, he let the ball roll to save some time before crossing midcourt? I've seen it before in the Celtics vs Clippers gameplay preview but Ican't seem to make that pass.
