NBA 2k12 with CPU 2 cores

Postby Lagoa on Thu Oct 06, 2011 12:44 am

Hey guys,

I have a 2 core CPU (Phenon II 555 Black Edition)

I play NBA 2k11 smooth.....now, on 2k12, game is not smooth....stays with 60 FPS, but not too smooth....

Anyone here uses a 2 core processor with new NBA 2k12 here?

I play in 1080p with all on high....

I'm on X2 Processor as well with only 3GB of Ram while playing on high settings. My GPU is GeForce GTX 260.

that's weird. i have an e8400 and a 4670. my cpu is probably a tiny bit faster then the one you guys have, but your gpu blows mine away.
i'm playing @ 1920x1080 and nba2k12 runs much smoother then 2k11 for me.

I think RECOMMENDED SPECS (2k never release a oficial recommended) is wrong in some sites....

Says 3GHz Double Core Processors...

My old Dual Core not work smooth in 1080p, like other here....

I think 4 core is a recommended CPU for this NBA 2k12.

I was having a similar issue but with a quad core cpu. I have an AMD Phenom II x4 955 and an ATI HD 5770.

During the benchmark I was getting about 120 fps with everything maxed, 1920x1080, 8xAA. Game looks great, only obvious issue is the tearing.
After turning on Vsync in game, everything would get a little choppy and lag. Checked the frame rate with fraps and it was at a constant 60.

Disabled AA in game and forced it in CCC and the issue went away. Vsync in game is on, at 60fps and no choppiness or lag.

Get this http://www.megaupload.com/?d=4F41ORNN,

If you don't know what that means then start reading here I have a laptop with a 2.8 -3.0GHZ core 2 duo and GT 240m, yes its old. I bought it specifically to play 2k9, 2k10, 2k11, and now 2k12. I max out 2k11 on my Asus N51VN-A1 but with AA on 4X and quality 3. Im sure its not any different this year and you should be on high after optimizing the config file and running D3dovverider.

The bottom line is i have the equivalent of the exact system requirements for the this game. It says 3.0GHZ dual core. I have t9600 at 3.1GHZ, not OC just what speedstep sets it to most of the time (yes intel turbo-boost is a glorified version of intel speedstep) The recommended GPU is a 3850 the GT 240m gets the same 3dmark06 score so it is just as powerful. Therefore my 2 year old $800 *at the time and new*, plays the 2k series sports games very well, along with source games.

To figure out if your hardware is the problem simply go to passmark or tomshardware and compare your hardware to the requirements in this case any computer with a 3dmark06 score of 7k or higher should be able to almost max out this game, provided they know what they are doing

wow, got my copy early and tried to max out everything. this is very weird but gameplay is so smooth! i still have the same hardware and made no configurations. i guess i don't neet to upgrade yet after all. :P
