Choosing the right team for the next season mode

Postby The Greatest10 on Sun Aug 28, 2011 1:27 am

So whats your team in 2k12 in terms of team chemistry, team defensive minded and offensive minded or lets just say
CHAMPIONSHIP CALIBER TEAM?

For me still the reigning 2 time nba champs Lakers because last season they were unprepared in the outcome of 3 pointers from Dallas team
this season they prepare again

My counter for Dallas players

I gamble
Steve Blake for Jason Kidd, compared to fisher coz hes getting older now its hard
Shannon Brown for Jason Terry, compared to kobe coz hes just watching shooting the three
Matt Barnes or Ron Ron for The Matrix(Shawn Marion) coz they both have defensive minded since trading away from there respective teams
Pau Gasol for Dirk Nowitzki since Pau had that height match to Dirk its hard if Odom coz of the height advantage but he has that quickness compared to Pau
off course Bynum for Chandler or Mahinmi coz he got that big size compared to them
For J.J Barea is devin ebanks coz hes still a sophomore level
Joe Dumars is best defender to him but not for long because he showed up already his skills in to the world that no best defender could guard him

You forgot about how Caron Butler would shred them apart even worse

...and Beaubois, Brewer, Stojakovic, AND... wait for it... THE CUSTODIAN!

The Lakers will never win without Adam Morrison.

Something of a nitpick, but they aren't the two time reigning champions; only one team can be the reigning champions and that's the most recent champion, which would be the Dallas Mavericks.

It depends on the sim engine. in a recent one I did the Bucks were the 1 or 2nd seed all season. Luckily come playoffs they were upset by Chicago (WHO WAS THE 7TH SEED!) in the 1st round. Then Idiana beat Chicago. So it's really all about the sim engine for me.

I'm not sure if Brown will be with the Lakers next season. He opted out of his contract and despite he might still wants to play for the Lakers he also wants more money. We'll see whether the Lakers can pay him or not under the next CBA.
Same counts for the Mavs as J.J. Barea, Caron Butler, Brian Cardinal, Tyson Chandler, Steve Novak, DeShawn Stevenson and Tim Thomas are unrestricted free agents.

That was a gutsy move by Brown, though I'm sure there will be a few teams interested. Still, most players opted for the guaranteed contract in the face of the lockout and eventual new CBA.

I have no doubts that there are teams that are interested in Brown. Considering that he wants more minutes (I read about that last season) plus he wants to make more money while still playing for a contender, there aren't many teams available. Maybe a team like the MIA would take him, but I doubt he would get more minutes and more bucks replacing D-Wade instead of Kobe...
At least he would be allowed to play in China if the season is cancelled because of the lockout, but I'm not sure he aimed for that. ;)

My team would have to be either the T-Wolves or the Clippers just because there are a bunch of young kids wanting to make their mark in the NBA.

it depends on the lockout coz some rookies are going to overseas and international teams to play
and the one who are left behind are those veterans but not say it wouldn't be good w/out the rookies.
since ron artest is going to play into the international team we have no choice but to believe on Mike Brown how would he handle the team to success
since they struggle enough from the hands of the Dallas i hope i Mike would to a better idea on handling each player especially Bryant coz hes the franchise player of the Lakers Team
Joe Dumars is best defender to him but not for long because he showed up already his skills in to the world that no best defender could guard him

That would be a joke. I think there isn't/ wasn't anybody in the league to handle eccentric egos better than jax the "great manipulator". He made Jordan score less as he did under Doug Collins for the benefit of the team. He won 70 games with a squad that heavily depended on Rodman. He played a role when Kobe wanted to leave the Lakers but decided to stay. So I say no. Mike Brown can't do better than Phil on and off the court.

thats why i said that it depends now in the situation where in Mike Brown would handle the team w/out there strong defensive man, it depends upon hes coaching abilities, we might not know that the Lakers would win 70+ game or 60+ like he did in the Cavs w/ TheKing :cheeky:

Considering the season would play at full lenght of 82 games, 60+ with a squad that played the triangle for most of the time and now might adjust to another system could be hard but would still be possible, considering the quality/ depth of the Lakers roster.
70+ ? I say never ever! If brown evelops a new system, the team has to practice on using it. That would be quite a task, considering summer camps and pre season might be off or heavily shortened.

70+ is far easier said than done. If it were that easy, it would've happened more than once already.

Within the next few years the only team I expect to have at least a fair chance of managing 70(+) wins would be the Heat. And even for the Heat it would be a hell of a task. The "big three" have to stay together. All important players have to stay healthy. The supporting cast has to be much better than last season and so on...
