Talk about NBA 2K12 here.

Not sure if a new update recently came in from 2K but in a game against the Phoenix Suns, Clark Kellogg just spurted out that the Suns traded away Steve Nash this past summer in an attempt to rebuild.

I'll check it out with Keep My Mod, but I'm pretty sure that in January or earlier, someone from OS posted they heard the same line. 2K had predicted this could happen, and had put the line in. I guess that it checks if Steve Nash is still on the roster, and if he's not, this line plays.

I tried playing the Lakers but no such luck with a Steve Nash conversation.

So they didn't update the files, it was as reported by the user in OS. They just guessed Nash would leave at some point and put that audio in, but they couldn't know which team he would go to.

I wonder why the audio wasn't put in place for Dwight Howard either

Are we certain that the line is Steve Nash specific? I figured that the player and team names were substituted into some generic dialogue acknowledging a trade, based on roster customisation. 2K definitely aren't releasing any more updates for 2K12.

I think it is, because the OS poster was only reporting it for Steve Nash as well.
Any other trades in my roster haven't been acknowledged by the commentary.

It's definitely not recent. About 3-4 months ago, I was playing MyPlayer and he was drafted by the Suns, mid-way through the season Nash was traded to the Hornets and Kellogg mentioned the Nash trade (and he mentioned him by name). My guess is, since the beginning of last season, there was speculation that Nash might leave the Suns via trade/free agency, so they brought it to the game...just in case.

Fair enough. Seemingly a bit of an Easter egg that turned out to be useful.
