Need help with new 360 Controller

I got frustrated with my ps3 controller and bought a 360 controller with the plug n charge kit. I thought it was plug and play after you installed the drivers from the microsoft site? now why isn't it getting recognized by nba2k12

the wireless controller plug and play kit needs the wireless receiver to work on PC. The "wired" 360 controller is completely different, it can only run on a USB and can't be wireless. The plug and play cord isn't able to work as a USB cord, only as a charger.

can u recommend one thats not too expensive?

both should cost ~ $15-20. Either the wireless receiver, to work with the controller you already bought, or a new wired controller
