how do I install mods?

hi guys
newbie here - quick question - I've searched but can't find instructions on how to install the mods/addons from the download section for NBA2K12 eg rosters, shirts, etc. I've downloaded some of them (eg. roster update, etc) plus the JGSME prog which is now installed in the NBA2k12 folder however I don't know if its active.
