Talk about NBA 2K12 here.

I've been trying this move in training camp for at least 2 hours (with and without a PS2 controller) and have not been able to get it.
I noticed that literally hundreds of people playing NBA 2K12 on PC have the same issue. Is there no fix for this? Furthermore, this was (apparently) already an issue in NBA 2K11. Nice to see that no one really cares about PC gamers!

It is possible but the game is pretty finicky about the stick movement. It took me a while to get it, another reason why I'm still not completely enamoured with Isomotion.

Yeah, the first year NBA Live came out with the dribble stick, I was easily able to do spins, behind the backs, crossovers. It's the only thing EA has over 2k - the isomotion is pretty bad.

A different approach to controls and more robust online support is what is keeping a foot in the door for EA; if only they can improve the rest of the game across the board. I'd still prefer to have the choice and believe competition is good for both sides.
That said, I do find Isomotion a bit more intuitive and satisfying to use in the last couple of 2K games. I don't think I'm ever going to completely love it though.

I've been able to do it a couple times, but I never intended to do it. Flashy passes in game usually cause turnovers...

It can be done.

There was a bug last year where you couldn't do certain moves, to get them to work you had to turn off vsync, or on, can't remember but try it.

What are you referring to? the "behind the back pass"? or "behind the back dribble"?

I do it all the time I ur referring to behind the back dribbling move, I had to change my control settings though, change it from camera relative to absolute, I found it easier to do dribbling moves that way

Camera relative might be an issue, I play with the 2k camera and a quick u motion never fails, if you go slow it depends on the quality of the player.
I definitely don't dislike isomotion, but I agree it's not a simple system, a casual player friendly system, it takes a lot of time to learn more than half of the possibilities available.
Maybe they should consider going with an alternative control system more casual friendly, accepting it will be limited but still keeping a more advanced system like the one we have now.

I hope you guys aren't using a keyboard to do a behind the back dribble.
