A question about My Player CPU trades

Sat Dec 03, 2011 2:14 am

I'm in my third year with my custom CF player. Last year we won it all as the underdog, with a lot of luck in the playoffs. Unfortunately, in the middle of this season, the CPU is trading away two essential pieces to the championship team as soon as I play another game, basically killing my immersion and suspension of disbelief.

I've tried to disable CPU trading using tsearch, cheat engine and the Chinese trainer (see the posts below).

Setting the allow trades value to 0 will not avoid the trade to take place, so I guess that this will be the end of my player until NBA 2K12 patches this. :-/

Why does this work for other and not for me? I've set the value to 0, freezed the values, let them unfrozen, basically tried everything I can think of. Heck, I can set any other value using the provided tools, but the CPU keeps trading my team apart.

If anybody has a solution or even a suggestion, then please let me know.

Thanks in advance.

Anyone out there who's confident that he can disable CPU trading on My Player's save file?

1. I'm wondering if either the trade has already occurred, and threrefore it's too late to fix the problem?
2. Have you saved after making this change?
3. Have you loaded your NBA2K11 My Player after saving it which the change in place, and see proof of the change in the tsearch?

Try these steps:
1. backup your my player save file
2. Load nba2k11.exe
3. Load My Player
4. Load tsearch
5. freeze the no trade value you want
6. save the MP file
7. Close tsearch
8. exit my player
9. exit nbask11
10. start up nba2k11
11. start up my player
12. load tsearch
13. verify the value shown in tsearch for trades is "modified"
14. play next game
15. see what happens

==================================

To test that you edited the right setting:
1. start up nba2k11
2. start up association
3. go to the options screen for no trades
4. open tsearch
5. lock in the 'no trades' value
6. attempt to modify the trade setting
7. if you chose the correct value to "lock" you shouldn't be able to change that value

Thanks for the help, Instant000.

I already verified whether the value was changed (although I used NBA 2K12 and not NBA 2K11), but I went through the entire process following your advice just in case I missed something.

The result was that the value I changed (from 1 allow to 0 disallow) was actually changed in the save game after reloading it. Unfortunately, the trade was made again, prior to the next game.
For the record and/or to clarify, my save game's roster is pre-trade, but starting another game will always trigger the trade prior to the game. I tried 20+ times and the trade always goes through just before tip-off, even if Allow Trades is set to 0 using tsearch, cheatengine or that Chinese trainer.

I guess my best option now is to wait for REditor's NBA 2K12 update, let the trade happen, and change the roster back to how it should be afterwards
Hopefully that won't take too long, because I'm really missing being able to play My Player.

Hrm.

It seems that the trade's already been worked out behind your back.

Do you feel like Adrian Dantley?

Lol, that's probably it. :-D

Thanks for the help, though. Shame it didn't work.

I'll just wait for REditor and solve the issue that way. It's just a real shame. I couldn't play The Association without the official rookies, and now my player mode is gone as well.

Used this to solve this issue:

Seems like those files are filled with viruses though, so I used it on a safe installation.
