New DLC does seem like a good bet. Latest on the PC patch is that it's "days away", at least according to a Tweet by Ronnie.

I was going to suggest PC patch, but yeah "days away" means it's probably a little early.

Maybe they'll be giving the DLC away for free to help boost sales.

I'll say a "deluxe" edition, with the DLC included. If we are lucky a speed fix.
Opinions are my own.

On top of that they will be bundling nba 2k12 with mlb 2k12 when it comes out in an attempt to boost the mlb sales.

That's not fair, I bought the game when it dropped for PS3 and PC. Why shouldn't I and the others who bought the game early get the Legends showcase add on? I guess they already got my money so why should they give me anything for free. Thanks a lot 2k.

Here's what I don't understand. Who would have Ronnie on twitter or facebook? NBA 2k or other 2ksports fans right.

Now if you're one of those fans, chances are you've already purchased the game, I mean its almost midway through the year...

That's such a tease (not that I actually expected anything).

You called it.

Not a bad deal for console gamers who have been holding off on picking it up, I guess. Not all that exciting for the rest of us.

Well that was a bust, even though PC Gamers get the main game, we end up missing out on all the "extra" stuff that comes out.

Fortunately, we do have greater flexibility when it comes to creating our own extras.

True, and it's not like a couple posters and the DLC was anything that was a must buy. We can pretty much edit whatever we want in the game.

Thumbs down to this "Cool Announcement", they spending more time thinking about sales then actually releasing a "complete" updated roster. Let alone, PC Users... :( , if we were to, in any form, get the Legends Showcase, I think I would just stop playing the actual game because I got a chance to play it over the christmas break, and it was alot funnier then I thought it would be.

this ia s shame, i thought they were going to announce finally a updated roster with player art for consoles (even though i have pc version), i mean do they honestly expect me to go and buy the game when i already have twice (xbox and pc version) 2k is getting desperate and i really hope that the live series releases a pc game this year, been a die hard 2k fan, but they way that they been doing things lately, i can say i will make the switch.... 2k this announcement was painfully ridiculous... As I said though, it's not a bad deal for 360 or PS3 gamers who have been holding out on getting the game, since you get it a decent price with free DLC and a collectible thrown in. It's not like they're the only company doing this, the Ultimate Edition of Fallout: New Vegas came out which includes all its DLC and Netherrealm Games are about to do the same thing with the latest Mortal Kombat game. And of course, the same kind of thing has happened with DVD releases in the past. Basically if you hold out a little longer, you can save some money.

Two things, however. One, those couple of games I mentioned have significantly more DLC to offer in Game of the Year/Ultimate Editions and came out months after the DLC (and in the case of the last two Fallout games, over a year after the release of the base game). Two, it's something that's only of interest to people who don't own the game for 360 or PS3 yet.

The big problem here is that Ronnie's Tweet was ambiguous, which is effective in getting people talking and speculating but invites greater disappointment. For those of us who own the game, we presume (and hope) the "cool announcement" is going to be relevant and appealing to us. Clearly, that's not the case here. If he'd Tweeted something along the lines of "Still haven't picked up NBA 2K12? We have an exciting announcement coming soon", it's a little clearer while still being vague enough to get people talking and interested. Consumers as fanatical and passionate as gamers are going to run wild speculating on ambiguity, so the lack of clarity was definitely a miscalculation on his part.

DLC = Downloadable Content. A content that adds something extra to the game.

I was thinking about that too. We already have the game and we were the very reason why it even became Game of the Year. To buy another game is unreasonable.

Unless, theyre selling the very software theyre using to create the game. :headbang:

Why the hell would they sell or even release the software or codes that they used to create the game?

I'm actually trying to get a answer on this , but if they end up adding real rookie portraits/updated models/and maybe some new tattoos with the patch included on disk accompanied by everything else that has been released for the game . I actually think it will be worth picking up again . At the moment you can get 22 bucks for the game plus 50% trade in and 10% for being a Best Buy Gamer member which comes out to 35.20 . So you will end up spending around another 20 bucks for the game . To me it will be worth it if they add the dlc and rookie portraits . Not having the rookie portraits and just having the blank box is a huge eye soar to me . If anyone knows anything on rookie portraits being added please let me know .
