toasty!

IMAGE

2k really did a good job on their coverboy this year (MJ) unlike the travesty that is the default kobe bryant 2k10 player model (which for some reason, they still used for 2k11)... the mj rookie version this year looks like the mj rookie version and the late 90's mj looks like the late mj 90's version as it should be out of the box, it's the early 90's mj that kinda irks me as it doesn't resemble mj that much from that era so i made a patch for it...

my patching skills is as rusty as kobe bryant's shooting on game 7 of the recent nba finals (last time i patched was around a year ago) so i'm still waiting for ron artest to save the day, err i mean i'm still polishing things up for this patch... i will release it of course when i'm done with it... =)

You got your timing right with your return. The legend MJ returns and so did you. Welcome back to patching. Your patches in the Live series were awesome back in the day.
Great detail with your MJ right there. Hope to see more from you. (Y)

i already noted and adjusted what you said man, it was the shadow in between the eyes and the eyebrow on the face texture that makes the eyes nearer to each other... thanks for the input...

haha i agree man, a long time of non-patching really shows... i'm getting the hang of it again though, new preview/progress posted below:

Image

this will probably be my only patch for 2k11 as i have moved on to the console version of the game (xbox360) for my basketball gaming fix (my current desktop sucks ass and nba 2k11 on it is unplayable), so i could definitely say that i'm only back for this particular mj patch...

Compared to 2K's, your Jordan now looks more humanlike, it's got cheekbones just like the real MJ of the 90s. Good job.

However, your Jordan seems to be in a good and happy mood, like he's ready to smile anytime :D lol. I'm not saying it looks bad to me, but I think Jordan seldom looks like that when he plays (except on All-Star games when he's all smiles). Every game he looks more focused and determined. You can tell by his eyes.

In other words, try to give him the eyes with a piercing look, sharp (not that happy "smiling" or laid-back look), and try to 'soften' his lip a little bit. (Y)

*lots of mj pics*

i see where your getting at man... but as a patcher, i also have to consider the ingame facial animations the game has... look at the pic below where he is shooting the lefthanded floater... that's a "more focused and determined piercing look" which the game's facial animation reacted in, it's also the one making it seem "laid back" on the other previews (i took screens of him standing idly by... hence, the laid back expression)... i could make his eyes more piercing via my face texture but it would be kinda ridiculous if he dunked or drove hard to the basket and the facial animation kicks in, that would be overkill now would it ( piercing look face texture + piercing look facial animation)? the facial game animation is also the reason why i didn't put mj's forehead lines or face wrinkles anymore...

Image

as for softening up the lips though, i'll see what i can do... :)
