I can't get this thing to work. The java site says I have the recommended update already.

Still have the same issue. I can use the 2k10 Mod tool but not this one.

It's a tough one: you have a corrupt java registry. Simply reinstalling it will not work.

Follow these steps and see if you can fix it yourself:

http://www.java.com/en/download/help/er ... nclass.xml

Make sure to follow all the steps and completely remove it from your registry.

I love the "finally" comments...0.15 has been up for almost 3 weeks now, I just finally updated the first post.


Anyway, still no updates for stadiums or anything......sucks.

Yeah, I can't use this tool either. I'm on 64 bit 7 and I've tried a couple of fixes but none seem to have worked.

what do it have in your regisrty by data when u go to HKEY_USERS\S-1-5-21-2116791129-961088311-2111660836-1000_Classes\jar_auto_file\shell\open\command

Are the people having issues trying to use the program from just the Nba2KX_ModTool_up0.15.zip file?

If thats the case then you are just trying to run some of the updated library files which is why you get the "Could not find the main class: nba2kmodtool.Nba2kModToolApp. Program will exit." error msg.

To fix this you need to download the Nba2KX_ModTool.rar (from the first post) extract it then copy the contents of Nba2KX_ModTool_up0.15.zip to what ever directory you extracted the main program to.

Hope this helps some ppl. BTW if anyone knows how to use this program to convert nba2k10 cyberfaces to 2k11 please let me know how.

Windows 7.

Go into your registry HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/.jar The value should read jarfile
Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/jarfile should read Executable Jar File
Go to HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT/jarfile/shell/open/command should read "C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jre6\bin\javaw.exe" -jar "%1" %*

Figured out what was wrong. You have to download ModTool 0.10 then copy and paste the 0.15 contents across. I originally thought just the 0.15 file would work. Now at last I can try make some cyberfaces (gotta learn how to first).

the 3d part has to be the same size so I doubt the 2k10 models will import into 2k11

I am trying to import the suits to the mod tool but I keep getting an error. I have downloaded the mod tool 10 and the update 15. I moved 15 over to 10 and over ride the files so we are good there. I can open the mod tool and open the global file. Once I go to import res and choose the dds file i get this error:

java.io.filenotfoundexception: G:\program files (x86)\2k sports\nba 2k11\global.iff (acess is denied)

Yes my game is installed to a games partition that is why there is the g drive.

I do have java 64 installed and I also installed 32 from this link:

I have windows 7

IDK if this matter but I have a full copy of the game which I bought at the store.

u will have to copy your global to desktop or whereever and edit it and place it back in your nbak211 folder

I have the same problem. The funny thing is I had it working fine, then did a clean install of Windows 7 and now I cannot get it to work and get the same error message as you show. I tried to re-install java both 32bit & 64bit (I have 64bit OS) and I get the same error message. Any help would be appreciated as I loved the tool.

and recently figured out the "cloth" models too. im pretty sure 2k just changed model formats or something when it comes to nearly everything that isnt a CF.

nope, no update for stadiums or floors for 2k11 but it does ask you what game you want to edit, 2k9, 2k10, or 2k11

the tool now works better for 2k9 and 2k10 files, nothing seems to ahve changed for the 2k11 files

u can basically use this tool for different game versions without being able to use different mod tool versions in order to modify your files ex.2k9,2k10 and 2k11 in 1 tool

if you are editing files for 2k9 choose 2k9 mode
if you are editing files for 2k10 choose 2k10 mode

0.161 was released, they bugged the model importing evidently with .16

update to 0.161 then you shouldnt have issues

im guessing when you import a model it just wont work, but if you update it will again

woah? can this export floor and stadium models too? .16? because I still can't export neither view floor and stadium models...

hey i need help, im new here

so, i downloaded both files in the TUTORIAL
now, the modtool updater i extracted the folder, but for the other one (just the modtool itself) i couldnt extract is there anything else that i need to do
