2K11 Remastered v0.2 released

This update mainly focuses on getting as many 2011 teams done as possible, but there's some other cool stuff like the global updates and the Draft Combine/Summer League stadiums, which are necessary for anyone playing MyPlayer.

The download includes all the v0.1 files too, as I went back re-did a lot of things. There is only a 100MB difference without them, so I didn't see much point in having an update download:

- Completed uniforms, courts, stadiums, and logos for the Clippers, Grizzlies, Hornets, Jazz, Kings, Lakers, Magic, Mavericks, Nets, and Nuggets
- Completed retro uniforms and team file for the Clippers
- Completed court/stadium for the Practice Gym, Draft Combine (Attack Athletics), and NBA Summer League
- Completed uniforms for the 2010 Draft Combine
- Updated 2011 Heat Practice Home uniform, fixed number position of 2011 Heat Alternate, fixed name fonts of 2011 Celtics uniforms
- Updated and converted 2K12-2K14 cyberfaces of 50+ players/coaches for the completed 2011 teams
- Custom global with updated accessories, with tighter and unbuttoned coach/player suits
- Conference finals logos should now automatically show up on basket stanchions of the completed 2011 teams
- Higher resolution team logos are now being used within the menus
- Fixed normalmaps of all completed courts
- More logo updates within Custom Bootup Screen
- More texture/color fixes of logos embedded within files, such as:
- Removing 2K Sports Logos or replacing them with NBA Logos
- Updating all blue/red colors of NBA-related logos

Thank you I was thinking it could be cool to remaster 2K12 after I finished this, but taking on something like the UBR might be a bit much. I'd probably need a whole team of people and I'm not sure how many would be willing. Remastering the default game wouldn't be as difficult though as I could port a lot of the stuff that I've done here, I can't say for sure though.

2K11 is a pretty hard game to get these days on PC, and has pretty much been considered abandonware by 2K Sports. They removed the Steam page years ago and I don't think it'll ever come back. I saw some CD keys going for crazy prices and I honestly don't know how else people would get the game legally without buying into that or finding some dodgy second hand copies online.

I bought what seems to be a legit copy of NBA 2K11 from an ebay seller for $6.95 (his base price is $9.00, he took my offer). Installed it on my Windows 10 without any issue and even have a CD key included. Currently he has 10 available: https://www.ebay.com/itm/404257376836?h ... Sw~cJkRI3C

I hope you enjoy what I've done so far, I'm sorry its not more of a complete mod. Not sure how or when I'm gonna get this done at my current pace, but hopefully it won't be long.

Hey thanks. I'm pretty sure its controlled by something in gamedata.iff, but not sure what exactly. It's probably just a 3D model that you could scale down in Blender. I might make a version of my gamedata.iff that removes all that stuff.

Hey there, so I've finished all the remaining classic team stadiums as well as their Jordan Challenge artwork. I kept the same format of each team using the main national TV broadcaster of their year, followed by some Jordan challenges using local broadcast stuff where necessary. I enjoyed researching each stadium and trying to get their correct artwork but I definitely took some liberty in places, especially with the scoretables/dornas. The '89-'90 teams in particular are a bit iffy in terms of accuracy but they still work well. The late 90s was a bit tricky trying to figure out and find good references, as there is quite a lot of variations between the years. I had to completely recreate a lot of the fonts and logos as most stuff online from that time period is pretty poor quality. Here's some previews of those:

Made some retro uniforms for the referees, they have the manually placed if you want to use them. There's some variations there that will remove replay/player indicators too. When it comes to upscaling the textures I've tried pretty much everything but nothing works, I've given up on that

I also incorporated a retro NBA ball that I think is based on a texture originally made by TwisT in 2K19.

Stadium editing is pretty restrictive for 2K11, so I struggled when it came to making things 100% accurate but I tried my best so hopefully there's people who can appreciate that.

If you're installing the mod for the first time, make sure to install "v0.2 - ALL IN ONE" first, before placing the v0.3 files into your directory!

My biggest issue with 2K11 was always how the audio quality for some reason is really bad compared to console.

Maybe one day when we figure out how to mod console files we can port it all over

Hey there, sorry about the halt of the project. Unfortunately I lost interest in this and 2K11 in general after finishing the Jordan Challenge artwork. Honestly, that was really all I wanted to get done, as the classic team stuff just wasn't enjoyable for me to play otherwise.

I needed a break but I do want to come back eventually to finish the rest of the teams. I've been using this project as a cope while going through a bit of a quarter-life crisis, my mother passed away around the time I started, and I wanted to keep my mind off things. Then I got burnt out and found other interests, and so that's where I'm at now.

I'm not going to get deep, but I think you could maybe understand that when you get in a rut, it's really really hard to change bad habits, and this project only made them worse. I've only recently started making an attempt at getting my shit together, so this project isn't as important for me anymore.

I appreciate people's offer to help out, I'm just being my stubborn self and wanted to keep a level of consistency between all the teams. It's a really inefficient way of working and it makes everything take so long. For now, I'd just use it as a base for your own modding projects. It likely won't be finished anytime soon, but I'm not done with it completely. If I get the itch again, this is what I'll come back to.
