I will admit, as someone stated before, the rosters are a bit odd at times (Noah's rating is way too high, should be low 80s). Somehow Biyombo, who can't shoot at all, has better shooting ratings (for the most part) than Enes Kanter. These are just a few. I've decided I'm going to use the Juza/Kova rosters.. spot on. I'll wait until NBA 2K12 comes out to use the rookies.

Well, the thing with ratings is you have to have some kind of a formula. All the great roster editors have their ways of coming up with realistic ratings.

An example would be durability. You start every player with 99 durability and take away points based on certain factors. If the player has had one or two big time injuries over the last 2-3 seasons then you drop it down to 80 or so. If you've got a player that gets a lot of minor injuries and sits out a lot, you knock away x amount of points and then for each game they missed over the last year you take away 0.5 points (2 games equaling 1 point taken away from durability).

So, lets say a player has an ankle and a knee problem that bugged him throughout the season, keeping him out of 30 games. He started with a 99 overall, had two separate problems (5 points each) so now he's down to 90 Durability. Add in the 30 games that he missed and he's now a 75 (take away half a point for each game missed). Now, this is not a serious formula, just an example. Putting together great rosters is not an easy thing to do. There's a lot of math involved, etc.

I rec that

superstar players should be = 90 above overall
all star players = 85 - 89
all star potentials should be = 80 -84
mid-level exemption type guys be = 75-79
role players and some upcoming rookies = 70-74
some slack players somewhere in the above range as well.

guys who don't get minutes in the real NBA = 60-69 those who are at the upper 60's levels are those that are "potential" guys, young rookies w/ promise.

maybe get some stats from last season..it can help you on rating the players..

It would be good if you could include this year's stats as well.

As far as Ratings go - I think Lopez (Brook Lopez) is around a 83-84 not a 79.

He is the best offensive center in the NBA , he hits constant 20 foot jumpers and anything in between, he dunks when needed and is extremley hard to defend in the low post.

What he is not good at is defense, he is very slow and does not have the best footwork. His rebounding numbers were down this year but he averages for his career 7-8 rbp. He is considered a big piece of the future nets (or part of a trade for Dwight) and is only 23 years old with all the time to improve.

I honestly think 79 is way too low for him... at least compared to some other 80-85 players that are in now way better then him.

I cant comment on anything else because I only watch the Nets in the NBA so I don't know about other teams players too much.

I would also lower "Travis Outlaw" on nets to a 65-60 or something like that, he was one of the worst players in the NBA and does not deserve a 71-72 rating. I think he had a 33 FG% last year... from 2 point shots and has 0 defense.

i think 79 is right where lopez should be if not a little lower. He's one dimensional, soft, has no defesne and when put with a good rebounder like humphries he can't rebound any more. Thats why i advised Darth not to make an open ended post for ratings.

i think it should be base on pure stats..just to have a fair game..

i didnt post it befor because im a little but i really cant make this roster works, is the first time it happends to me in all this years, fresh install or whatever, i load uar and i go to the rosters and default rosters are there. No problem with other rosters like albyss,kova etc...

I was having the same problem, try using the no injuries version of his roster.

That one worked for me.
