Yeah, the Mavs didn't have Chandler on the inside like IRL. Hope Darko helps you guys break the mediocrity. As for myself, I'm gonna try lead NYK back to .500

8-Time All-Stars Returns To Orlando

Image Image

February 20, ORLANDO – The Orlando Magic (26-28) cleared out their bench in order to trade for the Denver Nuggets’ (20-35) Tracy McGrady. The 34 year old small forward returns to the franchise where he enjoyed the most individual success and is hoping to give the team the number one scoring option that it has been lacking for the past few years.

Despite his age, McGrady has played in the NBA for 17 seasons. The 8-time All-Star last played in the All-Star game 4 years ago in 2010 and his physical condition is cause for concern for Magic fans. However, Magic centre Dwight Howard has stated that he believes in the experienced swingman to help the side make strides as they battle for playoff position. “Tracy is an exceptional talent. I remember the years when he was averaging 30 points a game,” Howard told reporters last night, “I’m very excited to see him back.”

McGrady is averaging 21.9 ppg, 4.4 rpg, 4.5 apg, 0.9 spg this season. He has played and started in 55 games. McGrady’s form has returned after having all of the 2011-12 season wiped out with a back injury. His career averages are 22.6 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 5.1 apg, 1.2 spg. He has played in 1132 games over his career and started in 989 of them. McGrady, who joined the league out of high school in 1997, was fond of returning to Orlando. “I always wanted to win with the Magic,” he said, “I’m happy to come back to finish the job.”

McGrady is looking forward to playing alongside Howard, Jameer Nelson and Gerald Wallace. “How I see it is that we definitely have a very talented group of guys here. I think we can go pretty far if we get to work right away,” he stated.

The Nuggets gained promising players PF Ryan Anderson (12.1 ppg, 4.4 rpg) and SF Donte Greene (12.6 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 1.5 apg). They also picked up PG Chris Quinn (9 ppg, 3 apg) and a second round pick for the 2012 Draft. The 25 year old Anderson double his scoring and rebounding numbers since joining the Magic last season. The 26 year old Greene signed with the team over the offseason and has been a surprisingly effective player coming off the bench behind Wallace.

The Magic now has a pretty strong lineup, well if McGrady would contribute as much as he could. (Y)
T-Mac to the Rack! :headbang:

So with Howard at the 5, and Wallace, t-Mac and Nelson at the 3, 2, and 1, that leaves a perfect slot for me at the 4, right?

Yes. You don't have a starting PF. Looks like you might actually get a chance to step up. Happy?

Orlando Deals At The Deadline

Image Image

February 21, ORLANDO – The Orlando Magic (26-28) and Memphis Grizzlies (16-38) have agreed to a deal at the NBA Draft Deadline that will unite the first and second overall picks of the 2004 NBA Draft. The second pick of the 04 Draft Emeka Okafor will join the first pick Dwight Howard in Orlando and the two players are expected to provide a solid defensive foundation for the aspiring Eastern Conference side.

Okafor won Rookie of the Year in his first NBA season but has since been disappointing to the point where people may say he has not reached expectations. Howard, meanwhile, flourished from the beginning and has been a dominating defensive player in the NBA as well as one of the league’s most explosive stars.

The Magic traded away young SG Courtney Lee and reserve SF Keith Bogans in order to attain the 31 year old Okafor. The former Husky and 10 year NBA pro is averaging 8.9 ppg, 9.7 rpg, 1.4 bpg this season. His career averages are 11.4 ppg, 9.7 rpg, 1.6 bpg.

The 28 year old Lee is a 6 year pro who is averaging 15.3 ppg, 5.0 rpg, 5.1 apg, 1.3 spg. The Magic front office believe that Lee is a versatile and competent player but also that he had reached his peak in Orlando. He furthermore became expendable after the trade that netted the team Tracy McGrady. The 33 year old Bogans has been a trusted three point threat (6.2 ppg on .490 3PT%) but his contract was too expensive for the Magic and he was thrown in to match salaries. The Grizzlies liked the fact that Bogans’ contract expires this season.

The Magic also received a future second round draft pick in the deal.

Ricky Davis Returns To NBA

Image

February 21, ORLANDORicky Davis has gotten the call back to the NBA. The 33 year old, 16 year veteran will join the Orlando Magic for the rest of the season to shore up their bench. The Magic recently acquired Tracy McGrady and Emeka Okafor but at the cost of losing five players.

Davis failed to win an NBA contract after playing last season with the Los Angeles Clippers. He averaged 10.3 ppg, 2.7 rpg, 2.0 apg last season. Davis has been working hard and impressed the Magic with his ability to knock down shots from behind the three point line. He claims that he is coming into the team with an attitude to win.

Orlando also signed Morris Peterson for the rest of the season.
