Defending Champs Cruise On Opening Night

SEATTLE (AP) – Al Horford scored 22 points and grabbed 12 rebounds as the defending champion Atlanta Hawks made easy work of the Seattle Stealth; a team aspiring to get where the Hawks are now. Josh Smith made it to 20 points effortlessly while Chris Douglas-Roberts had all 17 of his points in the second half.
The Hawks didn’t make any major moves to their championship winning roster over the Summer and that led to debate about whether they were contenders again with Marcus Banks at the helm of the team. Calls for the team to replace him as a starter motivated the veteran to put up a double double to start the new season. Banks finished with 13 points, 16 assists and took some time out after the game to call out his doubters. “I don’t appreciate the backchat,” he boldly stated, “I’m glad that the team is standing behind me and still supporting me as one of the leaders of this ball club.”
Three-time NBA scoring champion Kevin Durant opened 2012-13 with a dismal shooting performance. He struggled to his grand total of 17 points. Reshawn Tyson added 14, Andrew Bogut had 12, and starting point guard Jason Kidd, embroiled in controversy of his own, added 10 points and 8 assists. The 39 year old Kidd looked fairly average but luckily for Kidd, his backup guards Aaron Karl and Sebastian Telfair were no better.
“Ordinary game really,” Stealth Head Coach Will Sit said, “Only place we can go is up from here. We came up against the defending champions and they proved why they are the defending champions.” The Stealth fell behind early but made a comeback behind the efforts of Tyson and Durant in the third quarter. Douglas-Roberts took over after a timeout in the third period when the Stealth took their first and only lead of the game. The seldom used guard hit big shot after big shot to help the Hawks pull away with a big win.
“They had role players step up for them,” Durant assessed after the game, “That was the difference. It’s only the start of the season though. The most important thing at the end of all of this is who wins it all. My team will.”
Notes: The Hawks played without star SG Manu Ginobili who is still injured after being hurt during the Summer Olympic Games. The Argentine is expected to sit out another 2 weeks before making his return… In the midst of controversy, Coach Will Sit has reiterated his bold stance on starting Kidd. 2012 number one overall draft pick Jao Wu was listed as an injured reserve. Sit has considered sending him to the D-League and explained that he was not needed because of the team’s depth at PG…

Love how Sheed just keeps on being Sheed even after taking on a more serious roleGreat read there, good to see this one kicking off at last, after 11 pages
Martti. wrote:Nice chapter as usual. Sheed is awesome, but you better make sure Ty stays.
hova- wrote:Haha, nice Sheed stuff. The craziest assistant coach in the NBA. I hope Ty does not really flirt with the Knicks. Now that Durant is not the biggest dick anymore (Still: KD is a dick), it would be lovely to see them sticking together. Good chapter. Tough loss vs the Hawks though.

That's the reason I will end my 2010/11 season when you start your 2018/19.

Stealth Crash To Third Straight Loss
3 November, 2012
Preview | Box Score | Recap | Highlights
SEATTLE (AP) – Rebounding, outside shooting, and Jay Gray were the key ingredients for the Milwaukee Bucks in their trouncing of the Seattle Stealth. Gray was a beast as he romped his way to 25 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 blocks. He was ably supported by four other players scoring in double digits and another was one shot away from reaching 10.
“Great team effort,” the Bucks captain stated, “It’s always great to have your shooters hitting those outside jumpers. It made life a lot easier for me in the paint.” Daequan Cook, Mike Conley each scored 16, rookie forward Liam Washburn added a career high 13 points, Charlie Villanueva made 10, and Paul Milsap notched 8 points and 8 rebounds from off the bench.
Reshawn Tyson and Kevin Durant were unable to prevent the Stealth’s skid to three consecutive losses. Tyson scored 22 and Durant had 20. Andrew Bogut was solid in the first half before fizzling out in the second half. Under-pressure PF David Lee added 10 points but was largely ineffective.
Durant was disappointed with his team’s effort, “My team is capable of more than this. It’s annoying me how badly we have opened the season.” Coach Will Sit echoed the sentiments, “We need to start playing some real basketball before it all gets out of hand.”
After three games, Durant is nowhere near the top of the NBA scoring race but the forward has vowed that it will change over time. “I will be back up there in a month or two and before you know it, I will be the scoring champion again,” he boasted
Notes: Bucks’ rookie Washburn revealed that when he was young, he always wanted to play for either Seattle or Portland despite the two franchises being rivals… When told of Washburn’s childhood dreams, Stealth Coach Sit stated, “He’s got a good jumper on him. We could use a player like him on our team”…

I think it's the colors that's throwing us off. But try the ESPN Format or maybe try the more detailed NBA.com boxscores format
Just print screen, open it in photoshop and edit to your liking
Martti. wrote:Gray killed you. You should need improvement at the 4, David Lee isn't what he is in real life. Just get David West already.
Valor wrote:Martti. wrote:Just get David West already.
What he needs is Elton Brand
dare wrote:about the note, are you going to acquire Washburn?
Lamrock wrote:You need a good defensive/rebounding PF. A Joakim Noah or a Lamar Odom would fit great on this team.
