How To Join

If you want in; PM me with name, age (usually 19-23 - would be good to have a mix of ages ), position, school, height, body type/tone, 5 strengths, 5 weaknesses, brief description of your playing style and perhaps a background story that I can incorporate into this one.

You may add suggestions for signature shot, free throw, dunks, and handles.
(Note: With the background story, you don't need one but it would be good but I'm quite the brainstormer so if you dont give me a story, I will give you one that is interesting anyways!)

You loving KD in there! :) I'm happy to hear!

Actually no love for this egomanic fool who does not even know his teammates hate him :D But he kind of earned this spot since his shooting really went up this season ;)
But no love for KD from me. A bit of respect at least though ^^

Monthly Recap: January
Part Four: Around the League

Monthly Recaps are divided into several parts in order to give readers a quick and organized overview. Part Four of the Monthly Recap is the ‘Around the League’ recap, which features transactions and other League news. Part Five will feature the T-Mobile Rookie Rankings.

Transactions

Donnie Walsh made good on his promise to Mike D’Antoni, trading for former Suns’ players Boris Diaw and Raja Bell. In return for two D’Antoni favorites, the Charlotte Bobcats received two expiring contracts (Jerome James and Malik Rose) in order to free up even more cap space for the upcoming free agency period in which the likes of Shawn Marion, Lamar Odom, and Carlos Boozer are expected to test the free agency waters.

James who had been stuck on the Injured Reserves list at New York did not find luck in his move to the Bobcats as his career seems to be all but over. The Bobcats have not given the big man a chance to prove his worthiness. Rose has been solid for the Bobcats, with his best game coming in a 128-117 win against the Memphis Grizzlies in which the veteran forward had 13 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists. PG Mardy Collins who was touted as a player who would strive with D’Antoni as the new Knicks coach finally made his season debut two days ago; he had been sidelined due to a hamstring injury since October.

Raja Bell has fit right back into D’Anotni’s system with his debut being a winning one; 111-82 against the lowly Chicago Bulls. Bell finished that game with 20 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists. Close friend Diaw made the most of his minutes finishing with 9 points and 6 assists. Both players have continued to be consistent for the Knicks.

New York is 3-4 since the trade whilst the Bobcats have been 2-5.

January Trades:

10 Jan – Magic PF B Cook traded for Spurs G R Mason
17 Jan – Knicks PF M Rose, PG M Collins, C/F J James traded for Bobcats C/F B Diaw, SG R Bell

LeBron James and Chris Paul Named As Players Of The Month

LeBron took out his third straight Player of the Month honors as Chris Paul won the monthly award in the Western Conference. James’ team had an off-month but James was individually superb; notching a new career high in scoring along the way. Paul was instrumental in New Orleans’ winning January as he notched 11 double doubles in 16 games.

Chris Paul, New Orleans

- 36 points, 9 rebounds, 11 assists in 129-134 loss to Golden State
- 41 points, 11 assists in 120-114 win against Golden State

Stealth’s Stifling Defense Shuts Down Kings

Preview | Box Score | Recap

Image
Kevin Martin started the game hot but later cooled down

2 Feb, 2009

SACRAMENTO (AP) – Seattle’s Kevin Durant scored 41 points and added 8 rebounds, 7 assists, 2 steals; beating Kings’ rival Kevin Martin in their scoring showdown as well as willing Seattle to a huge morale-boosting win. Seattle were in need of a win after back-to-back blowout losses to Memphis and Utah to end January on a two game skid.

Martin finished with 36 points but needed an astounding 37 shots to get to that mark. He hoisted a career high 21 three pointers, sinking just 8 of them. Martin was gunning in the first quarter, scoring 15 points including back to back three pointers near the end of the quarter however; he slowly lost his shooting touch and found it hard to score. Despite his dismal shooting performance, Kings head coach Reggie Theus did not blame his young star for the loss, “Kevin was the only player on the court tonight who actually kept trying. Everyone was too scared to try anything.”

Sacramento were on fire from the start but were grossly outplayed in the final three quarters; in particular the fourth period. The Stealth fell behind early through careless errors and a handful of unnecessary fouls. Russell Westbrook was the main culprit, picking up two quick fouls in the opening minutes of the game. The rookie PG did finish the game with 15 points though.

Adam Morrison and Durant keyed an exciting 18-5 run from the end of the second extending into the third quarter. Morrison scored 8 of his 11 points in that run as Durant assisted most of the baskets. The highlight was an amazing Durant full court pass to Morrison, who caught the ball right under the hoop for an easy lay in.

The fourth quarter, in which Seattle outscored the Kings by 20 points, was Durant’s best period as the forward racked up 12 points to put his points total above 40. “Kevin was just amazing,” Stealth coach Gary Payton praised his young star, “He was just motivated to lead our team to the win.”

Notes: Brad Miller received a video tribute and a rousing welcome back. He went on to tally 6 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks against his former team… Also part of the Miller deal was Desmond Mason; he had a quiet night as he was held scoreless on 0-6 shooting…

I think Rose is starting now that Gordon was shipped away... but can't be too sure. I will check next time I am doing the rankings.

Chris wrote:Courtney Lee is amazing...he should be in the race for the 6th man award, too.

Nah, he's a starter for the Magic. Starting SG. That's why he's right up there for ROY because he's contributing to a winning team... he is the 4th top scorer but that's because Hedo is averaging about 20, Lewis about 18 and Howard about 15... it's a very balanced effort in Orlando.

The trade makes sense. Bobcats get salary cap space and D'Antoni gets his boys back. :)

Kobe’s 58 points Leads Lakers To Win

Preview | Box Score | Recap

Image
Kobe Bryant scores 2 of his 58 by passing by Kevin Durant

10 Feb, 2009

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Kobe Bryant scored 30 points in the first quarter and half of the second quarter as the Lakers built a huge double digit lead; they never relinquished that lead. Bryant was a major factor for the home side as he reentered the game every time the Lakers’ lead was threatened by Seattle.

Three times, twice in the last quarter, the Lakers’ comfortable lead became a mere 9 points. Every time, Bryant would be summoned to the court by Phil Jackson. Jackson was not happy with that and in particular the incidence of having Bryant return to the court with just 3 minutes remaining in the match when a Seattle run cut the Lakers lead to just 12 when they were up by 21 moments earlier. “We shouldn’t need Kobe and the starters come back on to the floor,” Jackson stated with disgust, “Our bench needs to hold onto leads. I did not intend for Kobe or Pau to come back on the floor but my hand was forced because Seattle made the game a little bit more interesting.”

The Lakers came out in dominating fashion with two big scoring runs to start and end the first quarter. Bryant was unstoppable as he scored from every spot on the basketball court. Seattle tried fruitlessly on many occasions to claw back at the Lakers’ lead. After slicing LA’s lead to just 8 in the third quarter, Bryant returned to the floor to put his team back up but an Earl Watson three pointer at the end of the third period had the potential to be a momentum changing shot.

Seattle returned to the floor on a mission and cut LA’s lead to just 9 points before the Lakers regained control of the match. When Bryant and the starters returned to the bench, Kevin Durant tried to take matters into his own hands and helped his side cut the margin to 9. Bryant once again came to the rescue.

“That is why he was MVP last season and that is why he should be MVP again this year,” Pau Gasol spoke glowingly of his team’s captain.

Seattle’s own MVP candidate Durant put in a spirited effort, leading his team with 33 points. He was disappointed with his team’s loss though, “We just came up a really talented squad tonight but there were moments where we could have won.”

Notes: Russell Westbrook has reportedly told team mates that his time is up in Seattle and that a trade is in the works to trade the unhappy rookie out of town… Durant came up short on winning a place in the starting lineup for this season’s NBA All-Star Game but seems to be a lock to be on the bench for the Western Conference All-Stars. Lakers coach Phil Jackson praised him, “Kevin Durant is one of the rising stars in the league right now and he is talented. I’ve put him down on my ballot to make the West bench.” Meanwhile, Bryant will make his 11th appearance at an NBA All-Star Game…

Sweet pics? Digital Cam? Well your still doing well. Bad loss against the Kings though. Kobe was killing it ... but you need to win games against teams like the kings and not against the Lakers. The easy ones are the important ones ;)

Looking forward to the next chapter. Durant turning completely crazy and wearing a wedding dress like Rodman :D ?

Seattle Shocks Blazers In Come From Behind Win

Preview | Box Score | Recap

Image
Kevin Durant’s triple with 1:01 remaining was the catalyst for Seattle’s victory

11 Feb, 2009

PORTLAND (AP) – Kevin Durant was named on the Western Conference All-Star team. Later, he would go on to score a new career high in points and also saved the Stealth from another loss with an amazing last minute display of heroics. The Trailblazers led for the majority of the match and entered the final quarter up by 12 points but Durant scored 18 of his 56 points in the final quarter to lead Seattle back from the dead.

Durant inspired his team to a close win as he hit a three pointer with just 1:01 remaining in the game. On the following inbounds pass, Durant intercepted the ball and scored an easy bucket, putting Seattle up by 1 point which was their first lead of the night. Durant then intercepted the ball again nearly immediately, Portland’s second sloppy pass proving to hurt them as they sent Adam Morrison to the free throw line with 52.3 seconds left in the match. Morrison hit both free throws to put Seattle ahead by 3; 115-112. Portland’s Martell Webster and Steve Blake both missed three point attempts of their own before Durant and Chris Wilcox combined to make all four of their free throw attempts to put the game out of reach for their division rivals.

“This game was really important,” Durant explained afterwards, “We have four games against Portland and if we want to get ahead of them to win our division; we need to win all our games against them.”

The game was even throughout the first half before Brandon Roy exploded for 16 of his 28 points in the third quarter. Roy hit back to back three point buckets in a mid-third quarter run that helped Portland gain a double digit lead. “Roy got us up on them (Seattle) and unfortunately, we couldn’t back him up enough to hold onto that lead,” Greg Oden stated after the match.

The match was billed as a much anticipated matchup between Oden and Durant; the top two picks of the 2007 NBA Draft. However, Roy outshone his team mate and seemingly transformed the match into a shootout between himself and Durant. If that was the case though, there was no doubt as to who won. Durant was phenomenal in the final quarter. “We’ve seen him become that hot before,” Stealth coach Payton said, “Right now, he’s beaten his career high score a few times this season. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him hit the 60 mark soon.”

Durant wasn’t unaided in this game though as Morrison scored 21 points of his own. The forward who has just recovered from injury made a case to Coach Payton to include him in the starting lineup again. “It’s no secret that I want to be starting again,” Morrison told reporters after the match, “Coach should have a tough decision to see who he wants to start.”

Travis Outlaw top scored for the Blazers with 29 points as Oden added 18 points and 12 rebounds. LeMarcus Aldridge added 8 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, and 7 blocks; 2 of those swats coming in the first minute of the game on the first possession of the game.

Notes: Roy was held to 2 points in the final quarter… In the battle of the rookie PGs, Russell Westbrook outshone Jerryd Bayless in this game. Westbrook had 14 points and 4 dimes while Bayless finished with 7 and 9. Westbrook had the edge due to his team winning… Seattle has a few days rest during All-Star Weekend. Brad Miller received a surprising call up to the Western Conference All-Star team… Seattle’s 47 points in the last quarter was a record high for the ball club…

I wouldn't think HK apartments (assuming you live in one) would be able fit a 46inch tv in... next chapter coming soon. :)

And about All-Stars... surprised about Marion being in the East. Calderon's call-up is deserved but I'm sure Ben Gordon would have been a better Guard to add to that team - not to mention Ray Allen and Paul Pierce who are having 20 ppg scoring seasons... Loving the Bogut selection too. Nice to see my man Brad Miller repping the Stealth for the West although I would have thought that Marcus Camby merited selection for the team ahead of Miller. The West looks just bout right - maybe take Miller off and replace with Camby or another forward. The East looks a little dodgy. :P

Wow. Those are some realistic all-stars! Congratulations on getting both Durant and Miller in there. Not sure about Brad, but Durant, at least in the reality of this association deserves it.

Keep the alternate version of the league's worst team about .500 for the rest of year, and keep up the spectacular presentation. This is the only reason I visit the NLSC these days. (Y)

Yessir, nice All-Stars. Nice to see Miller making his 3rd appereance ... and "nice" to see Durant in there :D. Well your record gives enough reasons to get him into the game .. his numers are great anyway (but in real life they are also good, but his team sucks too hard to make it to the ASG I think).

Looking forward to the next chapter.
