If you just led KD walk away to New Orleans... :)

Good to see Kidd back from injury relatively fast, and not really surprised about KD staying, considering I think the rest of the NBA now recognises him for his quote "My team baby" after every post-game interview. You made Seattle fine Wallace haha, $25,000 is worth the laugh it gave me when I read the chapter. :P

We have a strong team. If we resign Durant, then draft two good rookies (will have one lottery pick and a mid-late first rounder too), and sign a veteran; we have a strong squad going forward.

My two stars (rated above 90) are: Durant and Kidd
Starters (rated between 85-90): Andrew Bogut, David Lee, Ty
Second Unit (all rated above 80): Sheed, Raja Bell, Sebastian Telfair, Chris Wilcox, Trevor Ariza
Prospects: Rocky Akonnor, DJ White

The only non-80 or over rated player is Akonnor... so yeah, signing a veteran who is rated 80-85 and getting two quality first round picks should keep us going strong.

I'd be screwed for a few seasons to come. :P We've worked hard enough the past 3 years to get this good...

Kidd was only listed day to day but he's not 100% coming into game 1. :(

Kevin 'My Team' Durant is a likely fixture. Ty's rookie contract ends in 2 more seasons so he might be the player who walks... his player morale is not very high...

And Sheed's antics come at a high price... but out of his own pocket.

Wow, I didn't realize your players were rated so high. One of my starters is rated 78 in mine. and I only have one 80+ OVR bench player. Your team does look pretty solid, but I would recommend trading up for a young PG, as I doubt Telfair can fill Kidd's shoes.

Well, I traded for Bassy with the idea that he would one day fill in at starting PG for Kidd. He's shown flashes of what he can do. I really wanted to make him a star. If not, Ricky Rubio is available in the upcoming Draft. One of the stars of the upcoming Draft is also this 6'4" guard who is comparable to a D Wade. They are both options. if not, we could trade - as you stated. But I am looking at developing Bassy and giving him a season to see if he can step into Kidd's shoes.

I used original rosters... I think all players are rated pretty high... not sure, I know you do use a roster patch. My team is decent but not great unfortunately. We overachieved the last two seasons. This season was really lucky that we had such a good run towards the end of the season. (Y)

When I read ratings I balked for a second or two before realising you're in 2k9 & not 2k10 where ratings are a bit lower.

Looking forward to seeing who Denver is matched up with (Y)

Monthly Recap: April
Part One: Team Report, Results, League Standings, Player Stats

Monthly Recaps are divided into several parts in order to give readers a quick and organized overview. Part One of the Monthly Recap provides the league standings and player statistics; divided into the two conferences. It also features the Seattle Stealth’s’ team report and results of games played in the last month. Part Two will feature news, player awards, and transactions.

Team Report

The New York Knicks snapped the Seattle Stealth’s 14 home game winning streak while Jason Kidd strained his right calf in a blowout loss to the Miami Heat. Those were the only low points of April as Seattle closed out the season with a 5-2 April and look poised to make a solid effort in making the second round of the playoffs.

Big wins showed off Seattle’s might while a number of close ones displayed the team’s ability to work under pressure. The season finale between the Stealth and the Toronto Raptors was a treat as Seattle battled from double digits down to come out on top thanks to a Raja Bell triple with only a second remaining.

With Kevin Durant at the helm, Seattle look very strong heading into a first round matchup against the LA Clippers but if the team is to have championship ambitions, they will need the entire squad clicking and firing on all cylinders.

A priority for the team is to have Kidd back and fully healthy for their playoff campaign. Starting SG Reshawn Tyson looks a few weeks removed from game action but if he does return; it is not doubt that he could be a boost to the team’s fortunes. There are questions on whether Ty would ruin Durant’s roll and disrupt the team’s successful, although one-sided, game plan.

Some of those rankings really amaze me, like Miami as Eastern first, and Washington in 3rd. I can't wait for the play-offs, hehe! Kidd will still perform fine during the first round, it's so incredibly unlucky to go 9.9 APG for the year breaking his little record thing he had going for a while.

No Playoffs for Memphis. Damn..

Anyway, the regular season was great. As you started like what, 5-13? Getting to 46-36 from that is a great step.

And keeping Durant should be your main task this off-season. Cause you'd be screwed without him. :P

You're an idiot Leo... btw our team won by 25 against the team we beat in the Grand Final. :) We have best offence (160 scored in 3 games) in the league and the best defence by far (our defence conceded around 80 points in 3 games... all the other teams have conceded triple figures!)

Yeah boy, the ratings are skewed towards the top... and looks like u got Warriors... which means SUPER HIGH SCORING affair...

Fixed. Yes, as you can see from the end standings... we were lucky we cemented our place with a month to play... very very close in the West...

I don't know how Miami keeps getting so high in this dynasty but as I said in a previous report, Wade is a beast and Beasley is playing great as second fiddle while they have a good group of shooters/complimentary players surrounding them.

Washington is good man... Aldridge, Jamison, Butler, Arenas, Pirc (NLSCer) are great players. So they not surprising.

Yeah we had a huge turnaround after the Bogut trade. Milwaukee also had their own so it really fucked up my hopes of getting a high lottery pick... but yeah, good to see the deal work out for both teams! :)

Memphis died in the second half of season. Too bad Martti is not good enough to sustain his All-Star play all season :P And I HAVE to keep Durant... its a priority...

If Washington have LaMarcus Aldridge, then who's the other big man in Portland that's keeping them at number 1 in the West?

Greg Oden, Carlos Boozer, Brandon Roy, Steve Nash... I can't remember who the other SG was... I think it was James Posey.

We played these guys in last season's Western Conference Finals... they are a really really tough team to beat...

Re: A Legend Is Born II - April Recap 1

Tue Dec 08, 2009 11:06 am

Oh jesus, Boozer and Nash are at Portland? But oh man, let's hope that Timberwolves cause a massive upset. :P But yeah, I understand what you mean, there's always two or three teams that just connect on the court and are a major hassle to beat, sometimes veering on impossible. Just call in Durant to call in a few hard fouls, that should get 'em settled.

You gotta read the story to get up to speed man. :P

Portland made NBA Finals as sixth seed last season... they underachieved all year. Looks like this new season and better team chemistry was great for them... they dropped off to the end tho cause Boozer got hurt. But these guys looks like favourites to bring home the title...

Yeah, will need Durant to trip Nash and elbow Roy. :)

You should look around page 20-30... for my playoff series and what happened against them including a revealing chapter about how Durant threw a game by telling the Blazers what play they were running. :)

“So what did Durant say to you?” Steve Nash asked Outlaw, in reference to that important inbounds play.
Outlaw looked around and discreetly replied, “He told me the play was for the rookie.”
Nash figured that it all made sense now, “That’s how Brandon got up on him so fast. He knew where it was going.”
Outlaw nodded.

Yeah, I really do need to read the story to get up to speed, I wonder what other weird transactions I'm not aware of. :P Doesn't seem like Durant to throw a game, that's strange.

Alright Sit, I'll start reading it now, I don't think I'll finish 40 odd pages of reading in a single day, but I'll do my best. :)

Just read the updates and not the spam. :P You should finish it in like an hour haha

Lamrock has done it before... perhaps he can give an indication of how long it takes to get thru this...

Re: A Legend Is Born II - April Recap 1

Twice actually. :P It depends on how much time you put into reading the recaps. I skimmed them and spent probably a few hours over the course of a weekend my first time through. Pretty much just read the chapters and glanced at the recaps on my second time around and finished in about half the time. Don't rush it though, the association will (well it better) be here when you return.

You never know, the real life Durant might have seen this and wants to sue me  Same with D Howard (according to Mark.).
