Sorry it's been a while since I've checked in. Haven't really been into dynasties lately. Good to see this is still going strong and your Stealth are starting to pick it up after the slow start. Also great to see Bogut doing well.

Havent been checking lately with all that 2k10 combine hype and stuff. Nice win against my Raptors. 15p off the bench is really solid but I would love to score 15 every game and start so that I could set up my teammates more. I hope Calderon leaves soon ;)

Seattle Holds Off Lakers For Fourth Consecutive Win

Preview | Box Score | Recap

Image
Kobe Bryant has filled in admirably as starting point guard

13 Dec, 2010

LOS ANGELES (AP) – Kobe Bryant had another MVP-esque night but he and the Lakers failed to rally back and defeat the surging Seattle Stealth who went onto win their fourth straight game. The Lakers started Bryant at PG and saw him finish with 31 points and 7 assists. The veteran scored 14 fourth quarter points in the final quarter as the Lakers tried to pull off a come from behind win.

The Stealth were up by 15 to start the final period but that did not matter much as Bryant and the Lakers produced a stunning final stanza. Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol combined to form a formidable combination and halted the Stealth’s offence.

Gasol finished with 19 points while Bynum had a double double of 17 points and 11 rebounds. Bynum also blocked 4 shots. Luke Walton was the only other Laker in double figures as he hit 12 points.

Bryant hit a hree point shot midway through the final period to tie the match and the last 4 minutes of the game saw Bryant and Kevin Durant have an impromptu shootout. The Stealth were lucky that Durant was up for the challenge as he led his side to victory. Durant finished with an outstanding 37 point effort.

Durant received plenty of help from his team mates as Reshawn Tyson continued with his hot play from off the bench with 18 points. Jason Kidd was all over the scoresheet as he finished with 13 points, 8 rebounds, and 11 assists. David Lee had 13 points, 11 rebounds, and Andrew Bogut also put up a double double of 13 points and 10 rebounds.

“I am very happy with tonight’s win,” Stealth coach George Karl said, “What a difference a few days rest will make.”

Notes: The Lakers are without a starting PG with Jordan Farmar injured and Derek Fisher leaving the team during the Summer… The Stealth beat the Lakers 4-3 in their first round playoff series last season… Bryant hugged Durant after the game and whispered something into his ear. Durant later stated, “Kobe just told me that I have overtaken him as the best attacking player in the game”…

Kevin Martin, Sacramento Shows Its Class

Preview | Box Score | Recap

Image
Moses Chara rises up to face David Lee

15 Dec, 2010

SACRAMENTO (AP) – Kevin Martin and the Sacramento Kings denied the Seattle Stealth a chance to extend their winning streak to a season best 5 game. Martin finished the game with 34 points despite notching 9 turnovers. Moses Chara had a very efficient yet quiet 20 points and 9 rebounds while Shaquille O’Neal could not miss as he rolled to 18 points and 11 rebounds.

The Kings’ comprehensive win put a stop to Seattle’s success of late and helped the Kings inch closer to .500 (currently at 12-13). Sacramento’s two PGs Steve Blake and Steve Francis were major keys to the team’s success. Starter Blake finished with 12 points and 14 assists while sixth man Francis added 13 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists.

Chara was yapping after the game, “We the real deal. We had a bad start to the season but now we are showing who’s boss.” The second year SF was given a technical in the third quarter after he chased down former college rival Reshawn Tyson and tackled him into the front row of seats.

George Karl was fuming about the foul after the game, “That was reckless. Chara had no intention of going for the ball. He was going for the player. It’s unbelievable that he gets judged on a different set of rules!”

Tyson came off the bench and finished with 22 points. Kevin Durant led the Stealth with 24. Andrew Bogut had 11 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists while Jason Kidd chipped in 12 points and 10 assists.

Notes: Stealth C Bogut was fined $250, 000 for making an obscene gesture at the crowd in the team’s game against the Toronto Raptors… Jeff Green was moved to the inactive list as he is suffering from a lower back strain. The SF is expected to be sidelined for up to 2 weeks… Seattle plays Phoenix tomorrow night…

Reshawn Tyson: I Don’t Want To Be Here
2009 Third Pick Wants Out Of Seattle

December 24, 2010

Image
By Woody Hannes
ESPN.com Writer

Shooting Guard has always been a problem for the Seattle Stealth since Kevin Durant was drafted. Durant played the bulk of his minutes at the 2 during his rookie and sophomore seasons and that experiment failed. Seattle has since tried starting Adam Morrison and Jeff Green there but to no avail. Meanwhile, their prized third pick of the 2009 Draft has been sitting in the wings waiting for a chance to prove himself. Time is running out though as Reshawn Tyson grows impatient with the waiting game…

There has been buzz in recent months that behind the closed doors of Seattle Stealth HQ, General Manager Will Sit and Head Coach George Karl have been in serious debate over whether second year SG Reshawn Tyson could and should start for the team. Those rumours have only intensified the other stories that have come out of the Stealth camp; that Tyson will be involved in a trade that would yield none other than Toronto Raptor Chris Bosh.

In a recent interview, Tyson has publicly issued the Stealth with an ultimatum. He stated, “If I’m not going to get to start, I don’t want to be here.” That may sound like a lot from a player who has barely proved himself at the top level. Granted that Tyson is a NCAA champion from 2007 but he still has not shown his ability to keep up with the NBA’s elite players. Although one would argue that he has not had a chance to.

Tyson has started only a handful of games in his career. When I write handful, I mean it literally. The number of games Tyson has started can be counted on one hand and this was in last season’s playoffs. Against the New Orleans Hornets, Tyson was instrumental in helping to lead the Stealth to a sweep against the then-reigning NBA champions. In the following series however, Tyson was a complete non-factor.

George Karl measured Tyson’s ability from his playoff performances and has harshly sat Tyson on the Seattle bench in favour of veteran Raja Bell. Karl seems to have overestimated Bell’s ability to hit shots and anyone who labels Bell as a shutdown defender are simply living in 2004. That was five years ago.

Karl is grossly underestimating Tyson’s ability to be a starter in the NBA. All young players make mistakes and it’s tough to see Tyson shining as the team’s sixth man but not get any credit. Tyson gives you buckets and that’s what Seattle needs. Andrew Bogut is not going to be the second option this team needs because the offence played is one that suits swingmen. Tyson would be the consistent second option that the team has lacked for so long.

Tyson’s athleticism helps him on both ends of the floor and he has shown that his college days are over, where he used to only care about scoring. Now he defends the other team’s best player whenever he is on the floor. It’s about rewarding your players when they do things the right way.

Tyson is doing it all right but not reaping the benefits. Instead, George Karl is being as stubborn as ever. And it really is hurting Seattle. The most painful thing is to see a team follow up a four game win streak with three or four losses in a row. Something has got to give and everyone is wondering out, aloud, whether George Karl actually cares.

Because if he did, he would make a change and start Tyson.

And he better do it soon before Tyson won’t be around.

In a trade for Bosh, Ty has to be there to make the deal work and fair. But it's not worth trading him because he is coming off the bench for Raja. Ty is the future. Make him start and trade Raja instead. :P

Nice that Woody got a promotion at ESPN.

I would trade Raja as well, but I don't know if the Raps would want a way older player than Tyson.

If I did not trade Ty, I'd have to lose Jeff Green and David Lee as well as maybe Ariza and another player. Ty is good but his morale has dragged his rating down a lot  There's no way it's going up any time soon haha

Attention NLSCers

For those who participated in this, you will now be able to use your points to improve your player.

Great opportunity for a few of you, especially The X (who is in a terrible slump), to improve your players' performance mid-season!

What Do You Do Now?

It’s very simple. Every participant now has a certain number of points that they will be able to use on improving attributes of their virtual player. You only have one chance to use all these points so don’t waste your points (i.e. any leftover points are not able to be brought forward to the next tipping competition).

For every Skill-based attribute, it costs you 4 points in order to improve that certain attribute by 1. For every Physical-based attribute, it costs you 8 points in order to improve that certain attribute.

Skill-based attributes are skills like shooting, dribbling, passing, rebounding, etc. Physical-based attributes includes attributes like strength, speed, endurance, as well as mental attributes such as awareness. If you are unsure whether the attribute you want to include is a skill-based or physical-based one, you are able to post and pose your question.

A quick example of how to let me know how you want to improve your player:

Player: 75 points
Three point shooting + 5 (20 points)
Mid range shooting + 4 (16 points)
Layup + 3 (12 points)
Stamina + 3 (24 points)
3 Points left over that cannot be spent

Please send me your edit player requests (Don’t forget to include your player’s name!) via PM and in the format that is in italics.

Sebastian Telfair Leads Seattle Stealth

Preview | Box Score | Recap

Image
Chauncey Billups finished with 16 points and 14 assists

28 Dec, 2010

SEATTLE (AP) – The Seattle Stealth have struggled in the three games since Jason Kidd injured his wrist against the Phoenix Suns. The team was trying desperately not to let their losing streak reach six and fill-in starting PG Sebastian Telfair delivered. Telfair poured in 20 points and added 10 assists as he easily had his best game of the season.

“We all knew Bassy could play like he did tonight,” Coach George Karl exclaimed, “Look at what happens when you get a chance. This is why we resigned him.” With Kidd out of the team, Telfair has proven to be an able starter. The undersized guard even surprised himself with his latest effort though, “I was just in the zone. I hope I play like this more often.”

Telfair stepped up when Seattle needed him the most and he scored three long range bombs in the final period. “Our backs were against the wall and I felt that as the floor general, I had to make a statement,” Telfair said referring to the fact that Seattle were down and beaten at the beginning of the final quarter.

Kevin Durant was impressed by Telfair’s play, “I was having a poor fourth quarter so it was great that Bassy stepped up. I didn’t know he had it in him.” Durant finished with 24 points. Seattle saw Raja Bell score 15 points, Andrew Bogut add 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 11 assists, and David Lee grabbed 14 rebounds to go with 8 points.

“It was such an exciting win,” second year SG Reshawn Tyson, who finished with 10 points, said, “Denver didn’t think we were going to get back in it (the game) but the crowd got us over the line. Actually, Bassy got us back into it.”

The Nuggets look dejected as they fell to yet another loss. The side desperately wanted to win game number 20 for the season but looked dysfunctional with starting SG Andrew Watson returning from injury. Watson was not bad as he finished with 19 points and 10 rebounds. Carmelo Anthony was easily the best player on the court as he had 23 points, 9 rebounds, and 6 assists. JR Smith scored 20 from off the bench and Chauncey Billups put up 16 points and 14 assists.

“We were up by a lot of points,” Anthony stated after the game, “I guess Coach Karl always has us figured out.”

Notes: Stealth Coach George Karl used to coach the Nuggets… The Stealth comes off a five game losing streak, which was preceded by a four game winning streak… Discussion has quieted down on the possibility of a Chris Bosh trade for the Stealth. GM Will Sit claims that a deal is on the team’s agenda but it will take some more time to iron up some details. Many claim that Sit is trying to decided whether it will be worth trading away a first round draft pick as well as promising youngsters Reshawn Tyson or Jeff Green for Bosh…
