Don't worry, if anyone criticizes you for it you can just claim that you're a "volume shooter".

Bobcats Fourth Quarter Blitzes Stealth

Preview | Box Score | Recap

Devin Harris pops up for a jumper

5 Dec, 2010

CHARLOTTE (AP) – Andrew Bogut and Kevin Durant each scored 26 points but it was not enough to stop the Charlotte Bobcats who went on a scoring rampage in the final four minutes of a originally tightly contested game.

Gerald Wallace paced his team with 32 points. Devin Harris was all over the court as he picked up an efficient 24 points, 13 assists, and 5 steals. Michigan Rookie C Shaun Skinner, the fifth pick of the 2010 Draft, had a career high 20 points on 10 for 10 shooting.

“Charlotte had a lot of guys step up for them. That 7 foot rookie was impressive,” Stealth coach George Karl stated, “We didn’t finish well. Can’t make any excuses.”

Despite poor games from Emeka Okafor (9 points, 10 rebounds, 2 steals in limited minutes due to foul trouble) and Mark Moore (13 points on 6-16 shooting), the Bobcats saw Wallace, Harris, and Skinner rise to the occasion.

The same could not be said for Seattle. Jason Kidd finished with a quiet 12 points and 8 assists. Reshawn Tyson scored 11 from off the bench while Raja Bell hit 9 points but on a dismal display of 4-16 from the field and 1-9 from behind the arc. David Lee picked up 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists but turned the ball over 7 times.

“We were in it right until the end,” Durant lamented, “Just did not pull off a win. It’s disappointing.” The Stealth has struggled all season and is hoping for a reversal in their fortunes; the loss to Charlotte is going to hit them hard. Team captain Kidd stated, “Hopefully we have a win in the next game. We really need to start filling up that wins column if we want to make it back into the playoffs.”

The next game for Seattle is against the Milwaukee Bucks, where starting C Bogut used to play. The big man is relishing the opportunity to return to Milwaukee with his new team. “Our team’s form has been pretty poor but hopefully we can win against the Bucks and maybe go on some kind of winning streak.”

Notes: Bobcats player Russell Westbrook had just 4 points against his former team… Bogut was traded to Seattle in exchange for Jamaal Magloire, Adam Morrison, and a first round pick… There have been rumors that Seattle is involved in trade talks for Toronto Raptors PF Chris Bosh

Things aren't working out at all for you. 5-14
Bosh would help big time, but it depends on who you'll be able to give up.

Martti., I'm seriously thinking of trading for Bosh. Would need to trade away David Lee and Jeff Green though... worth it?

Meeh, that's some real bad luck :( I never get injured in real life. xD Screw it. But, it's just 3 weeks... I hope I don't get injured again...

I think it is. Although it depends on who are your back-up bigs. Wilcox and Foyle?

Valor, what do you mean? I may need to trade a third player to make it work... maybe Bassy...

ANd Martti., my backups would be Chris Wilcox and DJ White...

well, it really depends on who you trade, but i think getting Chris Bosh on your team would make it a bit too loaded (unless the guys you trade away are someone like Durant, Kidd, or Ty) you will be basically getting a Big 4 if you manage to obtain Bosh lol (Bogut, Bosh, Durant, Kidd...not to mention Bell and Ty) still, it really depends on your need and what you are giving up for him.

I wouldn't call Bogut part of a big four. I'd have a trio of stars: Bosh, Durant, and Kidd. Kidd struggles to score though, he only great setting up now. Can't defend either. Bogut struggles to average double digit scoring. Green is a big part of the team's future but I don't think I can accommodate him with Ty around. Lee is a dependable rebounder but I'm not used to his style. I might have to add Bassy (Who I wanted to develop into a starting PG) or maybe one of my lottery picks...

DO the trade if you can. Would be fine and pretty balanced if your giving up Green, the raps are sucking so it makes sense for them to appease Bosh by letting him go while they will at least get some talent and future potential in return.

I've got 5-6 Game recaps ready to be posted and December monthly recap coming soon. There is a delay due to me losing my USB... my worries are that I've lost my uni work as well... so need to type up my tutorial notes all over again... ah the joys of my forgetfulness...

cool, looking fwd to it. curious to see if CB4 joins the Stealth; I wouldn't say they'd be loaded/stacked acquiring Bosh but definitely playoff competitive... at least on paper

Always best to keep backups in multiple forms (hard drive, usb etc)

Next game recap will be up by tonight, I promise! I really wanna get the ball rolling again and finish this season at least.

Been really busy though!

And X, I learnt the hard way... lucky it was only one course's tut notes, if I lost all 4 courses then I would be crying right now!

But yes, I think I may trade for Chris Bosh... but might require me to send Reshawn Tyson away...

Bogut Returns To Milwaukee, Stealth Beat Bucks

Preview | Box Score | Recap

Image
Former Buck Andrew Bogut was given a standing ovation

9 Dec, 2010

MILWAUKEE (AP) – Andrew Bogut returned to Milwaukee; the team that made him the first overall selection in the 2005 NBA Draft. The affable Aussie, Bogut, received a standing ovation from the crowd and went on to help lead the Seattle Stealth to a 16 point victory.

Bogut finished the game with 17 points and 7 rebounds. Kevin Durant was the star though as he scored 34 points while Reshawn Tyson chipped in 19 points from off the bench. Jason Kidd added 16 assists and bench players Chris Wilcox and Trevor Ariza each scored 9 points.

Jay Gray, the Bucks’ second overall pick in this year’s draft, had a brilliant display as he finished with 23 points, 11 rebounds, 3 steals, and 2 blocks. Bogut was traded in order to give Gray more touches and minutes. “He’s a phenomenal player,” Stealth coach George Karl said of the rookie out of TCU, “We were lucky to get Andrew (Bogut). They sort of gave him away to us.”

Michael Redd finished with 24 points, 5 rebounds, and 6 assists while Richard Jefferson chipped in 19. Stephon Marbury, who has been reportedly shopped around by the Bucks, had 11 points and 7 assists.

Former Stealth players Adam Morrison and Jamaal Magloire both played well. Morrison, the team’s sixth man, scored 11 points while starting C Magloire pulled down 10 rebounds.

After Seattle struggled to slow down the Bucks in the first quarter, in which they allowed 43 points, Coach Karl signaled to his team that they would be headed for another loss if they did not try harder on the defensive end. Tyson, Ariza, and Wilcox were stellar during the second and third quarters where Seattle outscored Milwaukee 51-35. Seattle’s starters would begin the fourth quarter and Durant scored 14 of his 34 points in the first 4 minutes of the final period. Bogut added 8 in the fourth quarter.

When the Stealth bench went back on the court, the game was all but over. All there was left to do was for Ariza and Tyson to have a spectacular dunk each and keep the Stealth ahead in the waning moments of the match.

Notes: It has been rumored that Marbury will be headed to a contending team. The Bucks have stated that Marbury has been an excellent teammate and model citizen but the veteran is no longer in the team’s plans. Marbury responded to such news with a smile and stated that he wanted to finish his career back in New York… The latest rumors suggest that the Toronto Raptors will only trade Chris Bosh if they can get a package with a core of Reshawn Tyson, Chris Wilcox, Trevor Ariza, and Sebastian Telfair. An alternative group of players has been offered by Seattle; Jeff Green, David Lee , Trevor Ariza, and a 2011 first round draft pick…

Finally a bright spot in the season. Still a huge mountain to climb to get to .500, but when Bogut and Durant (And Bosh :cheeky: ) along with the bench continue to play like that, you could reach it.

Don't trade Ty.

Seattle Wins Third On The Trot Against Toronto

Preview | Box Score | Recap

Image
Andrew Bogut and Chris Bosh go for the rebound

10 Dec, 2010

TORONTO (AP) – Chris Bosh watched on from the bench as his Raptors let a late lead slip away. The big man fouled out with 3 minutes remaining in the game and Kevin Durant went on a tear to help Seattle win the game. Durant’s jumper with 1:03 gave his side their first lead of the night, which they did not relinquish for the rest of the way.

Bosh, embroiled in trade rumors that suggest he would be playing for Seattle, was given a controversial foul against Andrew Bogut. Bosh appeared to have hit Bogut in the back of the head and the Australian 7 foot player turned around and shoved Bosh. The officials gave fouls to both players and Bosh was sent off due to it being his sixth foul of the night. As the crowd booed, Bogut made a rude gesture that has prompted the league to review tape. Bogut’s actions will likely result in a fine.

The Raptors led from the start of the game and looked like they would cruise to victory. Although the team only held a slight lead over the visiting Stealth, the game looked constantly out of reach for Seattle who looked tired in their second game in two nights.

“They didn’t look good out there did they?” George Karl wondered out loud to journalists, “I’m glad that we have two days before our next game. Tonight we were terrible. We didn’t win, Toronto lost it.”

The Raptors were looking good from the start and Bosh finished with 25 points and 10 rebounds. Jose Calderon had 20 points and 8 assists while rookie PG Chris Hova and F Anthony Parker each added 15 points from off the bench. Second year starting SG Terrell Hicks had 13 points, 4 rebounds, and 9 assists.

Durant finished with 26 points leading Seattle; who won their third game in a row. Reshawn Tyson had another solid game from off the bench by scoring 16 points, Raja Bell hit three triples en route to his 15 points, Bogut notched 12 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, and David lee pulled down 15 rebounds to go with his 7 points.

Captain Jason Kidd scored a layup with 14.6 seconds left to put Seattle up by 5, the winning margin, and also had 8 assists. The veteran PG was pleased with his team’s performance and boldly stated that Seattle would be back in playoff contention after a slow start to the season. “The truth is that we have a much better squad than we did at the start of the season, everything is coming together right now,” Kidd said.

Notes: Andrew Bogut has been in trouble in the past for making an obscene hand gesture at an NBA crowd… When questioned on whether Bosh would help the team, Jason Kidd stated, “He’s an All-Star caliber player so I would love for him to join our team.”… The Stealth will travel to Los Angeles to face the Lakers who are 12-10…
