Improvement ideas... Thats tricky because you're really pulling out all the stops on this one. There doesn't seem to be any photoshop in this story, but I think a monthly Stealth magazine cover would be pretty cool. Or scouting reports like the X's dynasties, but your team won't have any good picks, and its a little late for that... Just keep up the good work man.

Well this dynasty is great as it runs. You should just keep up the good work. That is what I would like to see. Another thing which would be interesting imho might be the development of those "stars" who are about to retire .. for example I'd love to see how successfull Tim Duncan is right now or others like T-Mac or maybe even guys like McDyess. Only suggestions though.

1st idea: maybe predictions of the awards like player of the month, mvp of the season etc. which team is going to be the best on the east and on the west at the end of regular season.
and then we would get more points for our rookies

2nd: interviews with players, coaches, scouts, general managers etc...

great association, hope that 2k10 dont come soon so you'll keep writting :)

KlemenPipic, I was thinking of doing more predictions but decided not to because I don't want the NLSCers to become good really fast and also want mines to be a lil different.

As for your and Hova's idea about doing more League-wide coverage, I may do that. I try to do it in monthly recaps but obviously it is not enough so I will try to make it better. You two are frontrunners for that +50 point prize!

Okay, here's one, player reports like I used to do with my Hawks dynasty and Raps association. Like every month or two post each Stealth players stats and maybe have a little write-up on how their doing, and how close or far they are from being on the trading block.

Preseason Recap
Team Report, Results, League Transactions

This is a review of the NBA preseason for the Seattle Stealth and includes League news and transactions.

Team Report

The Seattle Stealth finished their preseason with a 3-3 record, to which Head Coach George Karl labeled as ‘mediocre.’ “We are capable of much bigger feats,” Karl stated after their loss to the Miami Heat, “It’s just a matter of getting our team playing together and it better be soon because we look pretty average.”

With new signing Raja Bell and new starting centre Jamaal Magloire slowly working their ways into their new roles; the Stealth looked lost at times during the preseason. It got worse as Jason Kidd was sidelined with a sprained wrist in Seattle’s win against Atlanta. As a result, Sebastian Telfair was forced to start at PG and the team was blown out by the Lakers and Heat in back to back games. Despite the sour end to the preseason, Seattle’s players remained in high spirits and the team had their final training session yesterday.

Kevin Durant has been in great form since winning gold at the World Championships in Greece. With his offensive skills looking sharp, Durant is an odds-on favorite to lead the league in scoring again this season. Bell has stepped into his role as the team’s second option well, averaging close to 20 ppg in the preseason. The only concern for Seattle is who to play at centre. Magloire has often looked disinterested while Chris Wilcox is undersized to replace the veteran. The team is contemplating about starting second year big man Rocky Akonnor.

Preseason Schedule

Oct 15 – Sea @ Was: 99-85 W
Oct 18 – Hou @ Sea: 147-102 L
Oct 20 – NY @ Was: 119-121 W
Oct 22 – Atl @ Sea: 111-125 W
Oct 25 – Sea @ LAL: 84-111 L
Oct 26 – Mia @ Sea: 122-103 L

Transactions

The Blazers and Clippers were big winners during the preseason. Portland were able to trade James Posey for scoring machine Ben Gordon, after trading Martell Webster for Posey earlier in the Summer. Posey brought experience to the table but Gordon is a whole different proposition and will make up for the loss of Travis Outlaw and LaMarcus Aldridge this season. Gordon was unhappy in Atlanta and Portland were lucky that the opportunity arose.

The LA Clippers confused many by drafting one of the top PGs of the Draft class, Ray Lliach, and it all made sense as they were able to pull of a blockbuster deal sending Baron Davis to the Phoenix Suns for Amare Stoudamire. Stoudamire’s time in Phoenix was over after he publicly called out the front office and the Clippers now get a franchise player. Davis joined the Clippers two seasons ago in anticipation of playing with Elton Brand but Brand chose to play for Philadelphia instead. Davis played great and inspired the team to make the playoffs in his first season in LA but the PG was deemed expendable with Eric Gordon and Lilliach on board. Stoudamire will be flanked by Gordon, Lilliach, and All-Star C Chris Kaman.

26 Oct – Hawks SG B Gordon traded for Blazers SG J Posey, 2011 Second Round Pick
26 Oct – Blazers SG R Fernandez traded for Cavaliers SG H Justice, 2011 First Rounder
26 Oct – Knicks C B Brock traded for 76ers PF M Speights, 2011 First Rounder
26 Oct – Clippers PG B Davis, 2011 First Round Pick, 2011 Second Round Pick traded for Suns PF A Stoudamire

Re: [A Legend Is Born II] - Preseason Recap

Idea from me - you should make a preseason preview, in which you could include all teams starting 5 and key bench players, teams biggest addiotions in the off-season and a short writing about their chances next season. It would be really interesting, cause I guess many teams have different rosters in your dynasty than in real life, so we should all get known by them ;)

Re: [A Legend Is Born II] - Preseason Recap

Tue Aug 04, 2009 10:26 pm

Lamrock, not a fan except for maybe including each player's stats in the Team Report in each monthly recap. Again, time is an issue for me...

newc, don't have the time to go through all the players on each roster which is why I do the 'Team Focus'... as for the season preview, one has been done already and it is the next update. :)

And an announcement: the teams that will be featured this season are Chicago, San Antonio, Denver, Miami, Orlando, and Phoenix. Thanks to all those that participated! You will be able to use your 25 points at a future date! I will tell you when you can!

Season Preview
Brief Team By Team Preview

We present a very brief team by team preview for the 2010-11 NBA season. Click on the links for more to read on each team!

1. Denver Nuggets – A shock defeat in the second round of the last playoffs has got this team motivated to win. The Nuggets did not make any major changes to their roster, which could work in Denver’s favor by not ruining the team’s outstanding chemistry. The only thing that may get in the team’s way is fatigue after Carmelo Anthony, Nene, and Andrew Watson’s stints at the World Championships. If the team stays healthy all season, Denver is a prime favorite to win the title. – Read More…

2. Washington Wizards – The prize signing of LaMarcus Aldridge has got Wizards fans excited. Despite a less than impressive preseason, Washington is expected to be major contenders to make the NBA Finals. The team has always lacked a bona fide star big man and Aldridge may well give that to the team. The continual improvement of Klemen Pirc, who was a star at the World Championships, has shifted Gilbert Arenas to the SG position and forced Deshawn Stevenson to the bench. This move might pay major dividends as Arenas is more of a scorer than a playmaker while Stevenson should be suited to more of a sixth man role. – Read More…

3. Portland Trailblazers – The surprise finalists from last season lost Travis Outlaw and LeMarcus Aldridge in free agency. A flurry of trades helped make up for that as the Blazers traded Martell Webster for James Posey before turning Posey into Ben Gordon. Gordon, the disgruntled Hawks SG, will bring some much needed firepower to a Blazers squad that was led in scoring by Brandon Roy who struggled to raise his scoring average to 20 ppg last season. Greg Oden, Carlos Boozer, Brandon Roy, Ben Gordon, and Steve Nash look great on paper but games aren’t played on paper. The Blazers may be back in the later stages of this upcoming postseason. – Read More…

4. Boston Celtics – The defending champions have not made any major changes to their roster just like Denver but unlike Denver, the Celtics aren’t getting any younger. The team has been reportedly involved in trade talks about Ray Allen but with little luck. The Celtics need to add some depth to their roster if Doc Rivers plans to rest his starters during the regular season. – Read More…

5. Houston Rockets – Yao Ming is coming off a MVP performance at the World Championships while Tracy Mcgrady and Ron Artest have both rested their bodies over the Summer. The Houston Rockets have been labeled as ‘contenders’ for the past two seasons but are starting to look like pretenders with their big three failing to step up when it matters most. Artest’s antics late last season cost them playoff success and if the season doesn’t start like the Rockets would like, Artest may be headed to another city. – Read More…

6. Cleveland Cavaliers – The Cleveland Cavaliers moved one step closer to securing NBA MVP Lebron James’ signature to stick around for the long haul. The team signed Rudy Gay, which gives the Cavs a second athletic scorer. Cleveland has all of the players to surround James and Gay and this season could be James’ first on a real contending squad. – Read More…

7. New Orleans Hornets – Chris Paul will once again be knocking on Lebron James’ door for MVP. Tyson Chandler is still projected to be out of action for a while and no one knows how he will play once he returns from injury. The trade for Martell Webster was a total coup for the team and if Chandler plays at the level he was playing at pre-injury; the Hornets may be serious contenders. – Read More…

8. Los Angeles Lakers – The selection of local swingman James Carter is a steal for the Lakers. Carter is one of the most talented players in his draft class and the former UCLA alum is ecstatic to be playing for his favorite team. Carter is expected to start for the Lakers alongside All-Star caliber players Andrew Bynum, Pau Gasol, and Kobe Bryant. Derek Fisher’s exit from the Lakers may hurt them in the short run because it is coupled with Jordan Farmar’s injury. In the long run, the Lakers may be looking dangerous. – Read More…

9. Orlando Magic – Dwight Howard has had two subpar seasons, struggling to make his mark on the offensive end. With the departure of Hedo Turkoglu, the Magic need Howard to play well on both ends of the floor. The behemoth has promised to average a double double as well as at least 20 ppg. Jameer Nelson and Howard form a great duo and the team will rely on the two of them even more than before. – Read More…

10. Miami Heat – Miami has been relying on Dwyane Wade too much but came up short again this offseason. They signed Eddy Curry and Ben Wallace to join Wade, Michael Beasley, and Mario Chalmers. No one is expecting Curry or Wallace to make much of a difference. Wade will have another MVP-worthy season while Miami surprisingly makes the second of the playoffs. That’s their ceiling until they sign someone good. Even signing Jermaine O’Neal would have made this team better. – Read More…

11. Atlanta Hawks – The Hawks desperately needed a starting PG and started the offseason hoping to trade Ben Gordon for Stephon Marbury but their plans were dashed after Joe Johnson decided to jump ship. The Hawks have lost their two best scorers in Gordon and Johnson. This may be the season that Marvin Williams finally lives up to his second pick billing as he finally gets a starting spot. – Read More…

12. Seattle Stealth – Kevin Durant can score in many ways but his team mates may be pulling him back. David Lee has failed to live up to his big contract signing while Jason Kidd is getting slower day by day. Raja Bell’s signing gives the team a new starting SG but the loss of Brad Miller will surely hurt the team. Former All-Star Jamaal Magloire has the talent to fill Miller’s shoes but many have questioned his heart and desire. – Read More…

13. Sacramento Kings – The Kings continue to get stronger as they traded for the Big Diesel. Shaquille O’Neal will line up beside the highest scoring partnership in the NBA, Kevin Martin and Moses Chara, and the Kings may be on their way up. – Read More…

14. San Antonio Spurs – The Spurs signed Larry Hughes and traded for Marc Gasol to add some depth to their roster. Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili, and Tony Parker should welcome their new team mates with open arms as the side failed to win games when their main players were hurt. The Spurs have been the most consistent team of the last 10 years. – Read More…

15. Golden State Warriors – The Warriors needed some more frontcourt depth and took a gamble on Jermaine O’Neal. It remains to be seen whether O’Neal will be able to adapt to the pace of the Warriors’ offence. – Read More…

16. Chicago Bulls – The Bulls are a good chance to make the postseason if Derrick Rose continues to improve his game. Rose, Luol Deng, and Jamaal Crawford can pile on the points but this team really lacks any kind of defensive intensity both on the perimeter and in the paint. You can only go so far by playing great offence. – Read More…

17. Philadelphia 76ers – Interesting side with some new young faces. Promising young big man Byron Brock teams up with Zoilo Resurreccion, Elton Brand, and Andre Iguodala. Team narrowly missed the playoffs last season but it could be different this year. – Read More…

18. Los Angeles Clippers – Amare Stoudamire is the best thing to happen to the Clippers. Since Elton Brand left for Philadelphia, the Clippers have lacked a real post threat. Stoudamire is an All-Star player and so is Chris Kaman. All eyes will be on rookie Ray Lliach though as he takes over as starting PG. The rookie won the NCAA title with UConn and that may be indication that he is up to the challenge of leading the Clippers. – Read More…

19. Detroit Pistons – This is a fairly big drop for the Pistons but their time may be over. Allen Iverson, no matter how brilliant he has been for Detroit, might be traded this season in order for the team to clear some salary cap space. Rasheed Wallace has grumbled about the Pistons’ chances of winning a title and might also be dealt as a result. Meanwhile, Rip Hamilton has been involved in trade rumors sending him to Milwaukee for Michael Redd. – Read More…

20. Minnesota Timberwolves – Stephen Jackson will provide the Wolves with some much needed toughness and leadership. Mike Bibby and Mike Miller will be happy to play alongside the sometimes troublesome swingman. Al Jefferson should also be happy as he seems much more comfortable not being in a key leadership role. – Read More…

21. Utah Jazz – Joe Johnson joins Deron Williams on a very weak Utah Jazz roster. The Jazz hope that Johnson’s addition will help the team stay above .500 and get a playoff berth. However, things aren’t looking too good for Utah. – Read More…

22. Phoenix Suns – Baron Davis is not going to turn the Suns into a better team. Phoenix has just begun a lengthy rebuilding phase, evident after trading Amare Stoudamire whom they treated as their franchise player. – Read More…

23. Charlotte Bobcats – Another young squad that needs a leader and just has not found one. Mark Moore might emerge as the team’s savior after working hard to improve his all-around game and honing his jump shot. Emeka Okafor’s days in Charlotte may be numbered while the team really has to do something about their point guard situation. – Read More…

24. Dallas Mavericks – The Mavs may trade Josh Howard in what would be a long overdue deal. Howard has been trouble off the court for Dallas and the potential All-Star forward might be on his way out of the club. – Read More…

25. Indiana Pacers – The Pacers did surprisingly well last season but we all believe that was a bit of a fluke. They had a terrific start to last season that we don’t think they are capable of repeating. – Read More…

26. Milwaukee Bucks – Jay Gray comes onto a team that has the talent to win a lot of games but just has not performed up to scratch. Gray is expected to turn this franchise around but that pressure may not sit well with the rookie PF. Michael Redd’s time with the team may be over as Milwaukee looks forward to building a team around Gray and letting go of the veteran SG. – Read More…

27. New Jersey Nets – New Jersey has a roster of talented players. Jeremy Mason and Travis Outlaw are talented and athletic swingmen, Yi Jianlian has shown vast improvement in his game, DJ Schmidt is a defensive presence in the paint, and Barney Steele could be the top PG of his generation. However, youth and inexperience should be this team’s Achilles heel. – Read More…

28. New York Knicks – Lamar Odom and Vince Carter are entering the downside of their respective careers. The Knicks took a gamble on the two veterans but along with Zach Randolph, the trio has not delivered. New York has ruined their chances of snaring Lebron James next summer. If New York can somehow make the playoffs and contend, it could be worth it. Right now, it doesn’t look likely that this team can. – Read More…

29. Memphis Grizzlies – Memphis lost their best player but they did come out of the Summer with a new starting PG in TJ Ford. OJ Mayo will take over as the team’s go-to-guy and it is only a matter of time before we see how this young team will adjust. – Read More…

30. Toronto Raptors – The Raptors have All-Star and Team USA member Chris Bosh, so it might look strange to see them here but it is all justified. Bosh is not happy with the team and the team is not happy with him. The team also drafted Chris Hova despite having Jose Calderon at PG already. Signs point to the franchise entering into a rebuilding phase. – Read More…

I had an interview with Manfred Nissley. He stated to me he was excited to be learning behind Mike Bibby. He also stated that he is starting to loose a little weight and gain a little speed. "...all due to the colder weather here, I love breathing crisp cold air!

nice team previews here man
Chicago is only at 16? come on Sit, show some love for the Windy City :P
and damn, the Lakers are only 8th.... :(
Also, i think the Stealth are a bit higher then 12, i reckon they should be somewhere like 10th, but that's just my opinion

cant wait until the season starts (Y)

The Lakers should be at least #4. They got James Carter! The 2010 Rookie of the Year!

Anyway, nice recap as always. I'm surprised I'm starting for the Lakers. I figured I would be backing up Kobe. Also, I think the Stealth are capable enough to crack the top ten.

Looking forward to the season! (Y)

...and props to Elgin Baylor for pulling off the Baron-Amare deal. I'm guessing that was the blockbuster you spoke of?

1. Thanks re: nice team previews
2. Chicago isn't that good. Sorry. :P
3. Lakers are 8th because they aren't that good either. No Lamar, no Fisher. I think 8 might be a little high, gotta admit that Miami is better at 8 and Lakers at 10.
4. Stealth belong somewhere in the middle...

Lakers do not deserve to be anywhere near the Top 5... as i said to Valor, I overrated them lol And I am also VERY surprised that you're starting. Looks like the new coach doesn't like Luke Walton after all...

And yeah, that was the blockbuster deal... and it also means ratrac will be a starter in Clipperland...
