Re: :::A LEGEND IS BORN II::: | Western Conference Final Game 6

My team wasn't ready to win it all. We didn't have a strong enough backcourt. This offseason, I'm going to have to decide:

A) Don't resign anyone and gamble on picking up an All-Star caliber player and risk losing all my players offcontract
B) Resigning my players, using the MLE to sign an older player rated around the 80s...

My main players due for new contracts are: B Miller, S Telfair, A Morrison, T Ariza... if I resign all of them, I won't have any Cap Space.

What do you guys think?

keep ariza!

I'd go option A as I don't think those 4 guys mentioned are going to get you any further into the playoffs....the question you have to ask yourself is if you really need Morrison & Ariza, especially given that you have Durant & Green in frontcourt covering the SF spot (obviously Green swings to 4 as well) & you seem to be laying out the red carpet for Tyson to become your starting SG....I think those guys mentioned are solid pieces, but don't know if they are worth it....maybe Brad Miller would be the one to keep out of the four as it's hardest to find capable centres for reasonable money....we all like Ariza, but Durant is your starting SF....

...or, option C, trade Durant away, he's clearly the reason why you didn't make the Finals. :P

hehe thiery ns option

i would take option A and then start trading some players who would still have contract (total remake of team)

keep green!

I want to keep my core intact. Durant, Lee, Green, Tyson, Kidd.

I want to have Morrison, Telfair. Would love to keep Ariza as he is great off the bench but as The X said, I already have Morrison and Green.

I want to trade away either Wilcox or DJ White. They're both fairly similar. White has more potential and they are both around the same age but Wilcox is the better player. My real issue is at C where I have Miller, Magloire, Akonnor... hardly good enough to match up with the better big men around the league.

This season was spectacular.. Making it to the conference finals was an outstanding achievement.

Can't wait for the next season. Memphis will be in the playoffs because of me.

Methinks you should resign Morrison and Telfair, then sign and trade Miller + the highest rated MLE player for a decent Center like Chandler, 'Meka or Bogut. (Y) You had a great season, and I think you can win it all if you have a good offseason.

How about keeping Morrison, Telfair, and Ariza; and try to trade Green away?
Trevor is a much better defender then Green and his offensive game isn't that much worse, you'll be better off with Trevor starting at the three, Durant at the two, and Tyson coming off the bench as a 6th man, or Ariza off the bench for Durant/Tyson, that way you'll always have at least one solid defender at the wings.

however, in the end, it's up to you, so do what you feel is best for the team :D

Yeah, took all of your feedback on board!

Get ready for the offseason! :)

It's going to be great!

Running short of time, was going to do some in-depth scouting reports from the NBA Draft Combine and the Eurocamp but doesn't look like it will happen :(

NBA Finals 2010
NBA Finals Preview

ESPN.com’s Woody Hannes takes a quick look at the NBA Finals.

6. Portland Trailblazers (48-34) vs 4. Boston Celtics (47-35)

The Celtics have been impressive as they enter the NBA Finals having swept the Cavs in the first round, beating the Pistons in 6, and following that by beating the Heat in 5 games. Boston has looked nothing but its dominant self as the team uses strong defensive play to fuel their offence.

Kevin Garnett (21.7 ppg, 12.7 rpg, 4.1 apg), Paul Pierce (21.1 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 4.3 apg), and Ray Allen (21.8 ppg, 4.2 rpg. 2.7 apg) once again reclaim the title of being the league’s best trio. They certainly have a lot of experience and grit; they seem to also have enough fuel left in them to make another championship run.

Portland may not be surprise contenders after all as they proved that they were worthy of their spot in their last two wins over the Seattle Stealth. They won Game 5 by 43 and proceeded to drop 45 points in the first quarter of Game 6 in a crushing a demoralizing loss for the Stealth. The Blazers prevailed in two tough series against the Houston Rockets and championship favorites New Orleans Hornets.

The Blazers have a deeper team than the Celtics. The problem with Portland is that the team is inconsistent because everyone still has not figured out how to play with each other. Portland has their own trio of stars; Brandon Roy (17.5 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 5.9 apg), Steve Nash (15.4 ppg, 6.6 apg), and Carlos Boozer (14.7 ppg, 7.5 rpg, 1.6 apg).

It seems as though the NBA Finals will be a close contest. Both teams seem to be evenly matched and fans will get to see lots of shooting, shot blocking, and highlight reel dunks. Portland will have home court advantage in this series and that may be the deciding factor of the Finals.

After skimming through the last few pages I missed, I have to say I'm not surprised with this Association's production. Great job on getting the Stealth to the WCF! I don't think they were ready yet to compete in the Finals. Next year, they'll come back even stronger! The Tyson storyline still has me at the edge of my seat, so props to that. Also nice to see my guy with a decent draft stock. Here's hoping he gets drafted by a team in the lottery! As for the prediction game, I'm rooting for the Blazers, but I have a strange feeling Boston will come out on top. Therefore...

Celtics beat Blazers 4-2
NBA Finals MVP: Ray Allen
