Console My Player people have freezing, there are some awkward animations for in-air collisions. Coaches might stay on the court a bit too long after time outs and Ive seen videos of a bench player walking onto the court. Also some reverse layup animations the ball will go under the rim and will count as a basket.

That's all i know of

Online looks like it could be real noice. 5 Lobbies, Beginner (less than 10 games played required), All-Star difficulty, Hall of Fame Difficulty, Custom Settings, Blacktop.

the NBA Today presentation is sicko, those damn commercials in the game? seriously? I love it. Same with the post game stuff, they went all out on the signature videos. Press photos are a lot better too.

I'm still having issues with Defense and Passing, there is a learning curve that bitch slaps me right at the beginning then in the 3rd quarter I make a comeback...I'll get through it though.

On a sidenote:
Larry Bird is ugly.

Bird's ALWAYS been ugly with 2K.. I consider this year to be a miracle with his appearance. haha (Y)

Hmm... sounds like a bit to ruin the experience for me. Are the latter glitches for PC as well?

i get the weird collision animations once or twice a game, it's nothing big and when I go into replay and watch it in slow mo it doesnt even look bad.

the coaches/player thing hasnt happened to me, but ive seen multiple videos of it. again, that isnt something that lasts the entire game/quarter, its just a second or 2.

I had the reverse layup issue happen to me on the onlive version of the game, actually, I grabbed a video of it

http://nba-live.com/jaosming/2K11/2K11%20Glitches.wmv

in that video you can also see that the disappearing head glitch is still here for the PC/Onlive versions. Only certain angles in replay mode are affected though

Alright then, thanks Jao. :) I think I'll be getting it for PS3 then, hopefully a patch comes out to address most of the big issues.

wait, why? all the issues except for the heads in replay mode are for all versions of the game

Well, I don't think my PC is capable enough of playing 2K11. I think I'd be more comfortable playing it on PS3.

Love the game... Jordan challenges are a pain in the freaking ass. Otherwise, NBA today looks godly... And their roster update for yesterday didn't have Ebanks and the other rookies :x

oh, and I can hear the ball bounce, don't know if anyone said that yet. I couldn't in 2k10 or 2k9.

NBA 2k11 is definitely an improvement to 2k10. The presentation is a lot better. To me it is more organized and easy to navigate than 2k10. Also the game is a lot smoother. It doesn't lag during animations, or when player takes a free throw, etc. The association blog works, you can upload the box score. The movements are more realistic to me, and the CPU is smarter. Doing crosscourt passes for example results in a steal more often which makes the game harder but more realistic. The only thing I don't like is the pink color in the players' accessories, jerseys, shoes, etc. I wish they'd get the colors right next time.

Ugh, I fucking hate that. 2K needs to fire whoever's making the jerseys because they look like shit. What the fuck were they thinking?

The first person walking to the bench in My Player is the best part of the entire game.

I can't decide if the full arena of cheering during free throws despite the gym being empty or Ekpe Udoh teleporting across the paint to grab a rebound where nobody else was is the second best part yet.

Went 15th to the Bucks.

Just played the 3rd Jordan Challenge which is a game vs the Hawks. The challenge is holding Wilkins to under 25 points while winning the game, outscoring Wilkins, and dishing 5 assists.

Of the three played so far (63 vs Boston and 69 vs Cavs) this was the most fun because I didn't have to score at a torrid pace. I play these things locked to Jordan. In the first two I kept calling for the ball (press pass button to have the ball passed to the locked player.) But this one I was able to focus more on D and running the offense.

I still scored 40 points (called for the ball at times, without that likely would have had in the high 20's), dished the 5 assists, had 3 steals, 5 rebounds and held Wilkins to 17 points. His scoring 17 while I was focused on stopping him (set to double team him every time he touched the ball) is a testament to how superstars play like superstars in this game.

As I was playing I thought about the ability for gamers to create and share challenges of their own. This could be as simple as matching some feat with an existing roster, or customizing the rosters for a full on challenge. For example, with Jordan score 61 vs the Hawks.

This is something that can be done right now on the PC version - create a roster update with the right players, list the challenge criteria, put it out there for people to play.

The game is awesome. Got it for PC. Way better than 2K10. It also seems like they fixed the issue for us on Realtek so we can now hear the ball bounce. The presentation was awesome. The commentary was cool too. I haven't really played with any of the other game types (Simulation,Casual, etc.) Will be working on the Jordan challenge now. Good job 2k (Y)

I'm pleased with the game.

Played a quarter of 91 Lakers v 91 Bulls. Lakers got off to good start but after getting used to controls, I (Chicago) was able to pull back into it and finish the quarter up 18-14. Decided to try something more challenging and got my wish in 96 Bulls v 96 Sonics. I controlled the Sonics and got spanked 40-15. Scoreless in second quarter and half of third quarter. Just couldn't score. I've got to learn to play this game. Definitely will be a learning curve.

This is going to be fun. :)

Hm, I can hear the ball bounce in practice mode, but in the actual game it's still the same as in 2k10. No bounce. But OK, I consider that a minor detail. The game itself is much better than 2k10. Especially the plays are vastly improved. Whereas in 2k10 I only used a handful of (easy) plays, because they always broke, I now use plays nearly every possession. Furthermore with simulation mode I can get close to real results without toucing any sliders. :D

Re: Official 2k11 Impressions Thread

I'll do a full review at some point but I wanted to post some quick impressions.

As I mentioned in another thread, I'm a bit disappointed that we don't have the option to simplify Isomotion to a face button. I understand they don't want people spamming a face button online and the whole point of having in-depth controls is to use them, but it would be nice to have the option especially for those who aren't as experienced with Isomotion. Still, since that's the only option I've got, I'm going to try and make the best of it.

I think it's always going to feel a little foreign to me, but following the advice from Czar's videos and trying to keep in mind that I should be making slighter movements on the stick is helping a bit and while it may never be my preferred approach to player control, I'm picking it up. Momentum still feels a bit heavy but that's probably me pushing the stick too far. It does feel a bit easier to make those slight movements on my PC gamepad compared to the Xbox 360 controller, so for me it feels better than the demo.

I'm getting the hang of things on offense but there are times when I feel a bit helpless on defense. There are times when it feels like my teammates aren't being helpful enough when I'm defending away from the ball and I'm also feeling a step too slow on defense. It's getting better as I continue to get used to the controls but the teammate AI is still a bit annoying.

Interceptions are also annoying at times. For the most part they make sense and come off risky passes but the CPU is a little too crafty with them and it's frustrating to see them making some blind interceptions.

The more I play and the more I get used to the controls though, the more I'm enjoying it. It's great seeing the signature moves come out; the first time I saw MJ's switching hands layup, Sam Perkins happened to be there in the paint so that was cool. I got blown out in my first couple of games but by the third I found myself starting to get a better grip of the controls and I ended up with a satisfying win.

There seems like there might be some quirks in the late game AI though. I was up by six with about 30 seconds left in the third game (controlling the Heat vs the Pistons in an NBA Today game) and the CPU wasted way too much time before attempting a bad shot, pretty much throwing away the opportunity to steal the win. Might be something to look out for as it could be an area that still needs a little polish.

I simmed a season in Association Mode. Loving the depth of course, I still think simulated stats are a bit off across the board but they're not completely unreasonable. Still a few too many trades and some of them probably shouldn't happen but then that's the case in real life too. I'll need to spend some more time with it but so far, it's looking good.

I definitely need to spend more time getting used to the controls before I can really enjoy the game but as I said I'm starting to get a handle on them. A little more practice and I think I'll be able to really appreciate the game, as it is I'm definitely liking what I'm seeing outside a few quibbles.

It looks like I may do the same thing I did in 2K10. Turn trades on in late January so they only get a few weeks of dumb trades and then turn it off after the offseason.

Anyone else think the "2K Beatz" are awful this year? There's a few decent ones but I just went ahead and turned them all off...

havent ran into anything I loath yet. only had to turn off Amazing last year but 2k9 i think i turned everything off except for 3 songs.

Have they relocated the foul sliders, or are they not there any longer?

Played the game for the first time as i got it this morning.

I love the in-game presentation and especially the sepia effect on the historic games!Nice touch there!
I really liked the start of the game, with the Lakers-Bulls 1991 game.

Game is smoother than 2k10 is and i get 8-10 fps more with the same settings!

Gameplay is better than last year but got some annoying spots there.

CPU steals the ball too easy.Played "The Arrival" and the Celtics got around 35 steals in passes that were not that easy to get intercepted,in times "flying" in order to steal them!

The game ended up as a loss, with 25 points diff. and Jordan being only one point away of completing the challenge(62 points,6 assists and 65% shooting)!!!!!!

Got confused by the new controls,as i messed up things with isomotion, and that was a factor of losing by a great margin this one,as i made jump stops all the time, confusing the buttons with 2k10.Game speed seems a little fast, setting the style on Default. What do you guys suggest?

Songs are worse than in 2k10 though, but i liked the menu style(except the popping menu from 2k10)

Overally,i really like this game, more than 2k10 and looking forward to play more on this...

(Based on 2K10 experience) Turbo helps, a lot. Don't spam/hold it every time you move. Just tap it to get a short burst of speed to get yourself back into position.

I F-ing hate that in MyPlayer i'm getting "Bad shot selection" on wide open jumpers. And occasionally "Bad pass selection" when nobody is near me nor pass receiver, also nobody is between us. :x

Another "Bad shot selection": Image
