Yeah and I do not have the time to put in this game right now simply to get a hang of it. I am going to be very casual with this game and not explore it much until I get a gamepad.

You will get the hang of it soon after playing it for a while. The game is difficult at first especially if you never played nba 2k before like me ( the last nba game I played was live 08). One great thing I really love about gamepad is that you can plug in multiple gamepads on you pc and play with your friends w/o having to go online just like a console. Face to face trash talking is awesome

i have the same story as well. This is my first 2K game and my last was Live 08. it is pretty hard but I guess I will learn eventually after I mess around here and there with this game over the next few weeks

play calling is done by hitting the play calling button, choosing what player you want to run the play for, and then choosing which play.
it's a very quick system with a controller

I have another question.
I just wanted to know what turning up Anti-Aliasing and turning up the Refresh rate from 60 to 75Hz does to the graphics. I am not sure how much difference I am noticing or if my mind is making things up.
I get the same FPS (90) with AA off and Ref Rate at 60 which is default as I do with these 2 settings turned up. They are supposed to make it run clearer right?
btw my monitor shows two options of refresh rate when not playing a game as well in the display settings window which is 60Hz and 75Hz. I one time heard someone say that turning up the Hz kinda messes up the visuals. Just curious.
Thanks
edit: I already googled this and got basic details on this. So I guess my question would now apply to how these settings have played out for people specific to this game only.

the refresh rate is only used if you have vsync and can run the game at that fps.
AA, I was going to tell you to Google it, and if you use it, your player of the game effects will be messed up.

So while testing the video settings within the game it showed I had a steady FPS of 90. It would be better for me to turn on Vsync and set my monitor refresh rate at 75Hz (my monitor's max ability) right?

only if you have screen tearing
if it aint broke, playing with vsync isnt going to help anything...
that said, MSAA will help with smoothing the edges, but if you are running a high resolution (over 720p) then you shouldnt need to worry about it

hi, got a question. I am using gamepad in 2k11 in pc, im using it for about 2years from 2k9. my question is, can we configure two different gamepad having different configuration button? thanks!
Fri Apr 29, 2011 9:45 pm
i think so
Sun May 01, 2011 2:49 pm
can we actually do that? i've tried but i can't see the configuration for the other joystick gamepad
Sun May 01, 2011 10:10 pm
TBH I'm not sure, I was able to have separate configurations for my wired controller, my wireless controller, and then 2 virtual joypads using key2joy.
Mon May 02, 2011 11:22 am
where did you configure the other gamepads? because all I can see in the option-configure controller is only 1 gamepad and a keyboard. even if i inserted 3 different controller.
Mon May 02, 2011 11:27 am
it just let me scroll through them just like switching between keyboard/joystick
Mon May 02, 2011 11:29 am
Have your controllers plugged in before you start the game?
Tue May 03, 2011 3:46 pm
yes i did plugged my controllers before starting the game, but when it comes to configuration on each controllers, I can only configure the keyboard and gamepad. i can't find the other gamepad configuration
Tue May 03, 2011 10:55 pm
is it the same controller?
Wed May 04, 2011 10:17 pm
yes, all 3 controllers that i plugged in are all the same. 4th controller is the keyboard
Wed May 04, 2011 10:30 pm
so if you have 3 of the same controller, why do you want different configurations for each
Thu May 05, 2011 1:38 pm
each of us has its own different configurations
Thu May 05, 2011 10:32 pm
well it sounds like the game wants 1 config per controller type, so you're either going to need to all decide on a config to use, or buy different controllers

Hi there.
I read this post but still don't know how to do cross moves with keyboard
Can anyone direct me to a tutorial or explain how to do those moves?
Thanks

essentially you hold clutch and do random things with the movement keys

The key that is assigned as the "Clutch" needs to be held down and then use arrow keys simultaneously to do iso dribble moves

Many thanks! The game is much better now!
