Are you playing sim style or you just kept it on default?

I agree that I do need to tone down the turnovers. I have no doubt I can get 63 points & 6 points with MJ, but would like to do it in the flow, that's all.

All good though, I'll probably hold off doing the Jordan Challenges until benches of each team are updated with proper players, their looks, playing styles & tendencies. Just so I can fully enjoy the mode

nah i definetly understand i just cant wait ..and i didnt rush through had 69 13assist 6rebounds 5 steals and macy and paxson hit key shots lol and i had 80 oints and 11 assists vs cavs pippen had 24

LittleMan, are you playing default or sim level? Just curious.

Anyways, I'm off to bed. I should've gone to bed a couple of hours ago since Ash finally decided to go to sleep at a reasonable time tonight. Of all the nights, why tonight?!?

Just played a 4 minute quarter game (30 min demo limit) on Sim/Pro using Real FG% instead of shot stick timing (to compensate for any onlive lag)

I realize what the reviewers were saying about the AI being ballhawks.....damn it can be difficult to make passes. Nothing unrealistic though, I had a slow swing going on and Artest jumped out to the 3pt line to pick it off. I really wish we had College Hoop's total control passing for lobs, bounce passes, etc. That would have made some of my post entry turnovers disappear.

I need to remember that there is a signature gather button, right stick passing, and the fake pass.....I never used the spin/crossover buttons in 2k9/2k10 so I'm not used to using those buttons. I wish they'd let us hold down the icon pass button through a pass for swings and such like Live did.

I'm pretty impressed with the presentation, again. I like the Sprite Spark or whatever before the 4th quarter and the commentary going back to previous topics is a real nice touch. The sideline reporter is useless though IMO.
Opinions are my own.

Ouch! So AU version does have an outdated Raptors, Bobcats and Hornets court once again?

Question to those who already have the PC version installed and running, did the game require you to activate the game online? I wish it did so we won't see lots of players with pirated copies playing online.

Jealous to all of you with the game. Won't be getting mine until tomorrow. (N) One quick question: How much harder is it to get into the paint than in 2K10? I thought that completely ruined the game, but in the demo it seemed to be fixed.

I just finished playing the intro game they put you in when you first start playing. I have to say, I'm really pleased with how the game feels. I remember 2K10 ran a little sluggish for me. I have a e8400 dual core, ati 4670, 4GB of memory, but I game @1920x1080 - So some games tend to choke up. 2K10 was one of those games, but I just played 2K11 max'd out and it felt pretty good!

I know others have complained about the controls, I'm not really sure why. I pretty much use the same controls I've used in the past and they feel fine to me.
The movement is still a little clunky at times, but I think it's a little bit better then before.

For me, it feels like it depends on who you're controlling and who's guarding you. I was playing on Rookie mode in the intro game. With Jordan, I able to slash and drive to the basket fairly easy early on, until they started doubling me. Starting around maybe the 2nd quarter, the Lakers tightened up their defense and would start double Jordan whenever I put the ball in his hands, so it was a little harder to get to the basket with him. I started driving with players like Armstrong and I was having a much harder time.

Hope that answers your question.

Edit:

Oh, one thing I did notice. It's probably because I was playing on Rookie, but I probably made about 90% of my shots. I know with Jordan I made around 13/14, a few of which were on drives where I was fouled. I only missed a few shots between everyone else on the team as well. We'll see.

Oh, and the stat line I had with Jordan, for anyone that cares about that sort of thing... 33pts, 5 rebounds, 8 assists, 2 steals, 1 block.

As soon as I played the demo I was saying that the game chooses the wrong pass for almost every situation. There's no reason to throw a two-handed overhead lead pass off of one foot when you're at the top of the key trying to get it to the wing. The proper pass is a bounce pass slightly behind the wing player.

It would be a whole lot of easier to avoid this if the AI players would actually try to get open instead of just clogging up whichever side of the court you're on. Maybe the Positional Playcall controls could alleviate that; haven't tried them out yet.

The menus are a little clunky/laggy compared to 2k10.

Anyone else feeling that? Your specs?

played some Blacktop and a Grizz vs Cavs game.

the in-air collisions need work, pretty jerky and puts a dummer on what could have been a nice play. there is a definite issue with player jump height on blocks and rebounds. I had Pierce's head well over the rim a few times and Gilbert Arenas one handed grabbed a layup for a block that was up near the top of the box. (game also glitched and warped him behind the hoop which is why I didnt record it)

I'm not complaining though, I am a "casual" gamer. I like my video games more on the fun side rather than the "sim" side and so far I am having a blast! Even though I am still stuck with the 30 minute onlive demo until Steam updates.

Anyway, enjoy this "You sly bastard, you took my ball"

I agree with what is said about passing. I need more practice though with it. There's icon passing, normal passing, touch passing, fake passing & there is right stick passing (when holding RB/R1). But yes, as a College Hoops junkie from years past, I do feel being able to throw bounce passes or overhead passes when the situation calls for it.

Jao, I read over at OS that Total Passing needs to be turned on in the control menu. I will try this tonight to see if this helps at all. Might also turn on auto plays in coaches settings/profile so the team is in motion.

airBerlin, I'd suggest playing on sim playing style & bumping up difficult. I play on pro difficulty in sim style & it was still fairly easy to score with MJ, except when they were doubling, although I had to use change of speed, direction, head fakes, call a few plays. And his jump shot range probably went out to about 18 feet. I imagine if I kept pumping up difficulty, I'd have to really work to get him going & run plays all the time.

so the 1st jordan challenge, score 63+ and 6 assists against the celtics...got that challenge complete by the end of the 3rd qtr...4th qrt starts and bird picked up his 5th and 6th fouls within the first minute...he still played while picking up fouls 7...and 8

the backups for the non bulls classic teams, yeah they are nobodies but couldn't they have cybered them a bit different? they are rather white or black and look identical, only difference is color.

so far i have yet to see one come off the bench, and again bird plays with 8 fouls...wtf?

the color "black" in the game looks very grainy and i have it on a high end pc. other than that i have no gripes thus far, only 1hr game play so far...

INDEED, I think subs are limited to only the actual players in the Boston game. Maybe once Bill Walton & rest of guys on bench are created as edits from the generics, then hopefully this problem will go away.

also, back of the manual has a key code, however during installation and starting up the game I was never prompted for this code.

i was told only ps3/xbox peeps get the dl'able jersey, is this what the code is for? did the gamestop poster just not have the PC listed on accident and its still available for PC users?

anyone else?

Just got my Gamestop preorder, absolutely loving the game.
Authenticity is outrageous.
My only gripe is that I can't use the My Player Cyber Face program... gonna have to wait until it gets updated.

You get asked for a CD key when you try to register for online, at least I did.
You never know though.

People were wondering if the game was just a graphical port of 2k10, well...
It looks fine to me.

The gameplay is very smooth. They have improved the AI of the CPU defense, particularly playing passing lanes. Long passes have a very low success rate as they should. The old school players are awesome. The baseline spin works very well in the post. The presentation is great. They advertise next weeks games between quarters. In Franchise mode, there is a trade finder, similar to the one in MLB. They also allow you to unlock different types of shoes, which give players specific attributes ( ex. Chris Paul's shoe gives a +2 for passing ) for any person that wears it. Some players are locked out of this due to their own shoe contracts. This game is a definite upgrade over last year.

EB Games. My local store had only two copies of the PC version out back after I asked about it, but the 360 and PS3 versions were out on the shelf. I'd say the other versions were there too but I only happened to walk past the 360 and PS3 displays to check out the PC section and then head over to the counter to inquire about the PC version.
