Official 2k11 Impressions Thread

My only complaint about the game really is the ai. Like a player like Dwyane Wade could be on a fastbreak against your one man and he just pulls up for a j like hes Mo Williams. But many of the problems can be fixed thru sliders. Edits can too if you know what youre doing. Cant wait for Rashidi to bring his rosters to ps3!

It's broken. When you are better than Lebron James & you say a game is broken, it's broken. Not the player fault for being a retard, no sir, it's broken.

It's going to be a blog subject, which means it has to be right.

I'd say not progressing past quarter time makes it broken, as far as the Jordan Challenge goes. It's literally unplayable, in that it won't let you play it.

As far as My Player goes, there's a massive imbalance. It's incredibly easy to get marked down a lot, but incredibly difficult to get marked up a lot. You can get small increases here and there, but it's hard to get bigger ones that are more equivalent to 'allow man to score', which is particularly annoying if I'm in the back court and they score on a fast break, which is in no way my fault. Several times, I've been marked down for not catching a pass (not my fault), and a lot of the time my player will pick the ball up after running into a defender, and nobody else moves. This usually leaves me with the choice of a bad pass, bad pass selection, bad shot selection, or holding the ball too long. I've even passed the ball into the post and had the post player stand and watch it roll out of bounds. Turnover. Apparently my fault. Not to mention the number of times I've been given bad shot selection for a fast break layup, or been on a fast break only to have a defender bump me from behind, forcing me to pick up the ball. Not to mention the second game, where one of the goals was to get ten rebounds. I'm a point guard.

I haven't tried association yet, but I'm not keen to given what I've heard about it, at least this side of the patch. I'd play Quick Play, which is fine, but when the game is prone to crashing and I have to save every five minutes to avoid losing everything and starting over, it's too much effort for no progress within a game mode.

just noticed, but has sweat on jerseys been omitted for 2k11? I clearly remember soaking wet uniforms on 2k10, but it isnt present on 2k11 no matter how late into the game it is.
Is this feature left out for the consoles, or intentionally omitted because the new jersey technology from adidas doesnt absorb sweat?

theres some realistic factors in 2k11 which werent there before. for instance, Gerald Wallace (on my team ofcourse) just broke his ankle going up for a rebound on a hit freethrow of the opposition player, totally innocent situation, just landed akwardly. nice to see that those type of situations have been put in, cuz they really do happen in games. now out 6-8 weeks tho : (

Hi there, My first post here.

I have noticed a few bugs in PC version:

- After about 2 weeks all players "trade value" depart to one star.
- At the end of the season, in "staff signing" period, if Assistant Manager contract has expired and I wanna look can I replace him with better, if I choose "fire" I cannot undo this selection, must choose new AM or exit game with "Alt+F4".
- In 2K10, I can trade rookies after I signed theirs, now there is no trade options in "sigh rookies" period in post season.

Kaman just went down in my association too, went up for a jump shot, got bumped landed on his back, stayed down & was subbed out with back spasms.

Not a good time for my leading scorer to go down, I'm at 25 and 28 trying to catch up with the Kings/Rockets for 8th in the West.

If I get "bad shot selection" on a layup one more time I have a good mind to eject the disc and snap it in half.

My impression of 2K11 to date.

- So excited for the game, paid extra for early delivery. Loved it for the first week.
- It's been a week since it's been played. So many basic bugs in Association and game play that it's unplayable in any mode.

In general it seems like a patch will make the game a playable, and even great game.

But there's a question. How do some of these bugs remain in the original release? How is it not noticed that players aren't leaving the game after reaching the foul out # of fouls? That's a basic basketball rule.

wait, kaman also got an injured leg after making a layup, that was on a quick game and no living rosters. hmmm are 2k11's injuries scripted or its just that kaman's durability is just so low?

really love the presentation this year, here's a list of what i was impressed about.

- Stadium Specific, i really like the way they put it in game. if the matchup doesn't look good for watching for
audience, the arena is definitely not full.

- i was playing lakers vs heat, and kobe (me) did a hop-step, i noticed a fan actually stand-up and do that travelling
spinning arm like in real life. that's realistic!

- if you're playing lakers, and if you're score will get close to 100, the fans actually shouting "WE WANT TACOS"

- i was playing clippers for a season game, kaman got injured in my very first game, but still i keep on playing, when i was
in my 3rd game, i hit a 3-pointer with baron, i noticed a fan wearing a black suit celebrating what i did. and was actually
shocked that it was KAMAN INJURED wearing a SUIT! i was like WHOAAAAAAA!

i really like that stadium specific thing, i just really love it. 2k nailed it. but still, lots of bugs and glitches, but i do hope everything will be fix via patch.

it would be very cool if when a player has an injury he can play through, or after recovering from a major injury, the game makes that player wear a knee brace or that shoulder brace...that would be awesome.

I didn't understand well, some versions has the small team logos on court and others does not? So which version I should buy?

On that "error" versions, at least it is spoken the official/correct Arenas names on narration/commentaries?

there are 2 versions of NBA 2K11. US and INTERNATIONAL (AUS/EU)

Difference:

US = some correct center logos for arenas and small logos (near the 3pt and paint)
AUS/EU = not correct logos, some courts doesn't have the small logos (fixed through modding)

by the way guys, here's what i'm talking about. really got amaze when i saw this...
notice that there's a guy in a suit sitting next to the players, well, it's odom and he's been injured for a couple of weeks now
