Official 2k11 Impressions Thread

Got my game last thursday, and oh boy this game is pretty amazing. Played a few offline exhibition games and so far 3 Jordans shoes unlocked.

right now i'm playing just plainly on keyboards and i must say i can't do such moves and controls.

anyone here would like to help? i will buy controller soon. what do you guys suggest to buy?

1. Controls for choosing Jerseys in a quick game, i tried everything but i don't get it.
2. Alley-oop control
3. Spin move

Who were thy going to and how were they scoring?

I played with the Clips today in an nba today game against the nuggets. I usually don't do well with Baron Davis, but I had 9 points early with him. I couldn't get anyone going, but played good enough defense to stay in it. I ended up taking the lead in the 3rd, but Denver just adjusted well in defense stopping my drives and forcing Kaman to miss in the paint.

I went 0-11 from 3pt range, quite the opposite of my previous game of 5-10. 2 of those 11 were accidental full court shots as I was trying to advance past cutscenes.

Overall it was a good game, I didn't notice any "cheating" and lost by 6.

Rasual Butler, he was scoring like there was no tomorrow. I always put a hand up on him at the same time he took the shot....

Got the game yesterday, I'm loving it. Won the Bulls-Lakers Finals game, and then played Magic(me) vs Nuggets. Melo had 18 first half points, and that's how many points he finished the game with. Love how we can play defense in this game.

Yeah, reading the manual was a good call. Unfortunately, I am only clutch unless I'm drunk, and I was merely buzzer, so I lost to my friend in an epic 2OT Live match. Deron Williams missed a pair of FT's with 20 seconds left and a 2 point lead.

Yeah, one question: how do you pass out of your shot?

I finally got around to play a full game on PC. Great game, much more fun than 2K10. Sliders need some adjustment in simulation mode (way too many steals from the CPU, but I also have to learn to pass better I guess...), but it's still more playable out of the box than its predecessors. The in-game presentation is slick and most of the player animations are great. Good job 2K.

solved my little problem alone..

1.switching jersey would be < and > buttons, alternately it will be , and .
2. alley-hoop = clutch+fake pass

now, spin move is my problem, i don't know how to execute it. can anyone give me tips?

After playing several games from my Association ive been impressed with the game so far from gameplay wise and graphics , only 2 things that really bothers me most is the dribbling mechanics and the fuckin Turnovers/tipped passes

i agree with your problems. the controls become difficult to use. and even the passes, hell the CPU passes successful full court and me, i can't even do it. i hope 2k will fix this on their patch.

with the CPU full court passing Ive noticed if I do a quick player switch and then hit steal I can pick that off. and again for the passing, use the icon lead passing to get the receiver away from the defender and just make smart basketball passes. or put the difficulty down a step

If you think those full court passes are unrealistic, turn down cpu pass accuracy. I lowered steals for both the user and cpu, along with pass accuracy for both and the turnovers stay the same but the cpu steals lowered a lot. I would rather find a way to decrease the cpu frequency of denying off-ball since it takes a few button presses just to select an off ball team mate and get him open, which just takes too long. I would have to do that since once they are being denied they just stand there. I tried lowering the play passing lanes tendency for the cpu but it doesn't seem to do much.

Is it the best sports game of the year or a now boring dust collector because of all the bugs?

I don't what the deal is with saying that Myplayer is boring, is fun as hell. much improved from last year, it has a lot of more depth.
of course it would be nice a few more details but it's fun. Im on the 20 ish game and already improving.

hell, every game i play i see improvements that i hadn't seen before. the only bad thing is the bad shadowing in PC other than that ( a big problem actually) everything is great. man, im getting even madder with EA, the improvements from Live to live every year (at least for pc) compared to this are laughable. man, they sucked good lord they're gone in the pc. I do hope they come back strong.

My player is ridiculous. I get marked down for holding the ball too long, passing to the wrong person, and not catching bad passes by my teammates.

Also, why is the requirement for the second game that I, a 6'1" point guard, get ten rebounds? How am I meant to do that?

If I get "bad shot selection" on a layup one more time I have a good mind to eject the disc and snap it in half.

My Player don't have any recognition when you are the league leaders in any stats.. Pathetic!!!

My Player is broken. Jordan Challenge is broken. Association is broken. Best game ever? It's not even playable.

If it's tipped it's a bad pass. If you pass the ball to a front court player on the break or on the perimeter, it's a bad pass. If your steal attribute is low, every attempt to steal is bad (when you said you got 'bad steal attempt' before getting a tip I imagine you were spamming the x button?), same for layups or midrange shots, if you have good midrange it will always be a good shot attempt if your shooting is bad it'll be a bad attempt. It's pretty logical even though sometimes it's flawed.

Yeah, I'm not getting many of the problems some of you are getting in My Player, other than bad shot selection on layups, which I always miss.

My goodness this game is so good I want to thank to Nba 2k11 for giving me the best sim experience ever. Hands down this is the greatest basketball game to be made. Ive been waiting on something like this for years. Ive never actually played a game where you run plays and they actually work and the players even react quickly. If you dont quite have the new isomotion down then its ok if youre good at running the plays w/o turning over the ball then youre straight. The new isomotion is great still can be improved a little but I love it. I also like how it cant be abused. This is the only game I can say when I play sometimes its actually like im on the court. This is basketball people! Hate it or love it this is exactly what it should feel like.

It's broken. When you are better than Lebron James & you say a game is broken, it's broken. Not the player fault for being a retard, no sir, it's broken.

But I'll continue to play it, mkay? But it's broken.
