Average gamepad recommendation instead of keyboard for PC!

Postby T-MAC-power on Mon Dec 03, 2012 4:16 am

Hi guys,
Granted, Nba 2k11 and all later 2k series DESTROYED the enthusiasm in me regarding to Nba gaming because of preventing me from playing via keyboard. I cannot get to the rim, can't truly drive in, and can't score without penetration via keyboard due to IsoMOTION garbage which is not a keyboard's friend, UNLIKE my beloved Nba Live 03, 04, 05 series!

Now, asking and wondering, how playable and how hard to enjoy via regular ps-like gamepad like this:

Or similar analog or analog-free modest USB gamepads i can buy.

Are they OK? Can i do the following via this kind of gamepad: pro-hoop, crossover, fake step, spin move easily just like in Nba Live Series which let me do those moves via keyboard with ease?

Thanks a lot!

yes, with a gamepad it is much easier

I always recommend the 360 wired controller since all you need to do is plug it in and the computer and the game will automatically recognize it and have the icons change for that controller.

If you have a PS2 controller, you can also opt to get a PS2 to USB adapter (like this one) fairly cheaply on eBay, which should do the trick. Logitech's dual analog pads are also very PS2-like.

Hmm, you mean XBOX 360 controller via USB and Pc-compatible? Is there a quite cheap one that would allow me to exhilarate by doing drive-in(s), sping moves etc. the movements i stated?

Thanks Andrew, but i don't think i need it because, it's OK for me to just buy a PS2-like USB gamepad with dual analog, and no conversion is required? Do you have a recommended one below 30$ ? How about the gamepad stuff like in the picture that i posted previously? Will my 2k11 be playable much easier than keyboard via these gamepad?

How about this, will it be automatically recognized with no 3rd party software installation?

Thanks all to you guys!

No problem, that's just another cheap alternative that's worth throwing out there. I'd say that pad will work out fine though.
