A few questions about updating the rosters

I just started playing 2k11 again and, after a few minutes of being frustrated and checking my firewall settings, realized that they shut the online off.

Question is, how can I still take advantage of the whole "living roster" thing? Or, at the very least, have the very last set of rosters they released?

Where can I download the patch, and how many patches are there? If it's just the one, I think I still have that in my downloads folder.

Is there any thing I'm really missing out on besides living rosters and online games?
