Finally. We get something.

And it's ...really mediocre, compared to what I've seen from 2K13 so far.

NOTES:
- The AI seems utterly stupid sometimes. What the hell's going on at near 3:37?
- On-Ball Defense at the 3 point line is non-existant. Most defenders stay near the paint for whatever reason.
- Some terrible sliding, some repeated animations (two instances of a "jump high into the air, spread arms and legs and pass" animation back-to-back).
- Seems like every time a pass is made, someone jumps into the air, either the one making it, or the one receiving it.
- Transitions from animation to animation seem jerky; 2K has spoiled me.

The presentation looks nice better than NBA 2K13 but the gameplay footage is not that impressive I think this footage is from a early build because the animations look like the E3 screenshots.

EA had to release some footage I guess, to get the discussion going. I just don't know if this footage does them any good though. I don't like what I'm seeing.

Meh, I'm not a potential customer anyway, I mostly buy games for my PC.

EDIT: How is the presentation better? It doesn't even try to make it seem like the broadcast has any continuity. The ball is out of bounds, the game does a fade to a player coming in for another, and before that's done, the game fades again to the ball being out of bounds and the player being already in. At least 2K keeps its flow and shows players going out and coming in, and there's the interaction between them as well.

The bodies look a little weird to me  besides that i noticed the dribbling is a little weird, reminds me of nba live 99, also i've noticed that when wade got his first points, the jumpshot, also reminded me of the jumpshot fadeaway in live 99 as well. But, the faces do look good and the espn presentation is pretty cool. (Y)

First off, Downloadable game pretty much confirmed if this is legit (and looks legit) Notice the "Exit Game" icon in the main menu. Dynasty Mode was there too with Online, good, good.

No updated rosters did make me think this could be fake, but at the same time, while it looks similar, it is not Elite 11.

Presentation is amazing, overlays, crowd noise, commentary, atmosphere, great stuff there....but

Graphics were ugh, please have a PC version so we can patch it up!
The cameramen on the baseline were all glitchy and screwed up,
animations.....
was that a CPU halfcourt shot to avoid the 8 second backcourt call?
Camera not showing players in the corners? (a la NBA Live 06)

I mean, that is, as Leftos put it, mediocre at best....but I still want to play it....and I would love to support it on the PC.
Opinions are my own.

Finally. Something.
I'm still probably going to get it.
Look at LeBron slide around the court around 3:53
One thing I wanna know...is where/how they got the footage. :?:

If it said Exit to Windows then we could flip a shit, but Exit Game icons are required for Xbox Live Arcade games, and do not exist for Disc games.

Not to make too many excuses for the game, but I do wonder how old the build is. After all, I'm assuming they do actually have a cover player and said player will appear on the title screen, but this footage obviously shows a title screen with the placeholder image. At least, I'm assuming it's a placeholder image. That would suggest a build that is likely outdated at this point.

Animations certainly do seem to lack polish with some skating and some awkward looking movements. It's hard to tell, but a couple were OK and it was nice to see players stumbling a bit when gambling for the steal, stuff like that. I would hope that this is an early build and there is some more polish in the finished version, though.

Presentation was great, they've obviously worked very closely indeed with the NBA on ESPN crew. I'd say they've pretty much nailed that aspect of the game. Commentary was a bit ordinary, without the back and forth conversation that NBA 2K12 represented quite well. It's passable but apart from that, great presentation.

From the looks of it, AI leaves something to be desired as far as player movement and running plays, but again I wonder how old the build is and whether those things were disabled for demonstration purposes. I'd definitely like to know more about that, to put it in perspective.

Looks like the pass fake has been added to the controls this year.

I somehow doubt it.

I'd say it resembles the NBA Elite 11 demo more than anything, in terms of some animations looking off.

I somehow doubt they threw out all the animations from NBA Elite 11, that they said they would be using, in favour of dusting off old tech. That's not to say that some unpolished animations don't look old school or not up to snuff, but I would suggest it's different tech nevertheless.

I just watched this video by jao and i must say some aspects of the animations are similar, but the way they dribble and shoot remind me of live 99.

It almost looks like a tablet game. Everything is HUGE. Looks like an improved version of Elite.

The intro looks great, even the glitch at the end before the starting lineup.
Player lighting is solid. If they could add progressive sweat, it could be amazing.
Player models are awkward. I talked about this before with the screenshots. Huge shoulders, no hips, jerseys look painted on.
Again the tip off sucks, nobody has ever gotten it right. No big deal.
I hate the default jumpshot.
It looks tough to get into the paint. The defenders are helping pretty well and sagging off poor shooters. This looks like it will be a positive.
Turbo looks like it is back. There seems to be a clear difference when pushing the ball upcourt.
I think the IK technology is still there. Players will reach for the ball instead of using predetermined rebounding and blocking animations.
-at 5:02 Bosh seems to be reaching out for the ball while being boxed out(or pushing Ibaka). The ball is tipped by Ibaka but Sefolosha gets the board.
RTP looks like it is in. 7:52 layup has two different animations for each the shooter and defender.
Substitution cutscene is unnecessary and awkward. A high five or something instead of a head nod would make more sense.
Post-basket camera cuts have an abrupt lock on the player creating a disorientating effect while they are animating. They should use dampening like they did with the PS2/Xbox versions.
Crowd looks great.
Commentary is good, but Van Gundy needs to be more consistent. He seems to be quiet for long periods of time.

9:15, Collison takes a collision from the front yet falls forward on his face. I wonder if the collision system thinks that Lebron used his off arm to push Collison while going up with the layup. Awkward moment for the collision system.
9:42, Dwyane Wade passes through part of Harden, and Harden takes a reverse charge/flop. The dunk looks like an old animation and does not match Wade's momentum on his drive. It was also much smoother of an animation and looked out of place than the other ones.
Slippery slidery going on everywhere. Check out Shane Battier at 10:00 after his step back post shot. His first step is at the elbow of the freethrow line.
There is an icon showing who you are going to pass to.
CLOCK SPEED!!!! They took the old Madden idea. They make the clock go faster, but the shot clock is still natural. This should allow for realistic stats while maintaining realistic minutes.

Say what you want, but I missed NBA Live. All the menus, presentation, sounds, shoes, accesories , logos, jerseys, cyberfaces(arguably) are better than 2k's. But gameplay...ehhh. And unfortunately gameplay is what counts the most.

I think that 2k Sports and EA Sports should work together next year and make one game. Imagine that you have NBA Live with NBA 2k's gameplay and game modes from both games. That would be something special, probably the greatest basketball game ever. Its a shame that its probably never going to happen...

But I'm still looking forward to NBA Live 13, despite I know 2k13 is the only right choice at the moment.

In light of that I'd wager that it was an early build, from around the time of E3, certainly released without clearance.
