Nothing to see here. It just shows both guys being in Tiburon, nothing about the game itself.

It's still a little early for info and preview media of the game itself. It's starting to trickle out obviously but I'd say there won't be anything substantial until around the time of E3.

That does give us a quick glimpse of Kyrie Irving's cyberface being worked on though. That's kinda cool.

they almost use the same techniques in creating the player's faces but i really would like to know more about how they are doing it

I'm guessing very similar techniques, but with a single program rather than Photoshop and a separate import/export utility.

but we are getting better and better i remember the ebodit program in nba live 08
i think the only difference i saw is that they are using severeal screens so its easier for them to compare their models with the 'real faces' on the photos
i hope that we will gain more experience in doing animations but i really have to give all the ones who taught us the techniques credit NLSC is great guys!

That, and they'd be using software specifically developed for making faces.

Headshape, cyberface & motion capture at its finest (although for a non-sports game): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q2EG5J05048

Very cool. It's highly unlikely they'd ever be able to do that for a league of around 400 players but it's interesting to see the kind of tech developers are using these days. It's come a long way to say the least.

That remined me of what FIFA did to make some of their faces, maybe they use the same software. I don't think it's that hard for the Live team to do something similar with every team or at least with the players that attend the All Star Weekend, I'm sure they could have some time to do it.

Well for NBA 2K10 they got the same people who did the facial animations for GTA and RDR, Image Metrics. http://www.operationsports.com/news/358 ... direction/
Now, with the help of Image Metrics the facial animation goes beyond what we’ve ever been able to capture before. An actor is actually recorded with a camera connected to their face to capture how facial muscles work and better document a facial animation. Now, simple animations such as blinks are not so much just moving the eyelids, but rather the cheekbones, muscles, and so much more. We took it a step further and sent Image Metrics the actual NBA footage of the players with signature expressions and signature intros, so that way we actually have the facial animation to match the body animation. We are not limiting this to the players either. Coaches, assistant coaches, and others will have better facial models and animations to bring the most realistic looking characters to any sports game you’ve ever seen

Which was true, 2K10 was the first to have really good facial expressions, just 2K11 and 2K12 haven't improved on it much.

So....yea, not the same tech, but the old tech was used for 2K, and EA should definitely do more than this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRlgkTohJjQ

I meant bringing in all 400+ players, that seems fairly time consuming and unlikely to happen. That said, I'm sure they could put that kind of tech to work though.
